I begin each negotiation by letting the dealer know, that - C.A. Tedeschi
I begin each negotiation by letting the dealer know, that at that at the end of our negotiations, whether I buy a truck or not, I will leave several reviews on several different sites detailing my experience. (Someone has to make an attempt to hold these fellows accountable for their outlandish sales behavior. They are bordering politician level disinformation.) For 2 weeks I talked to Will Rodgers of Beaver County Nissan. I wanted to wait to come in until we could agree on a reasonable price, so as not to waste my time. Will started with the same schtick all the sales floor guys say. "We can no longer sell below MSRP." They can and they do. He claimed they barely made much from the MSRP. I assured Will that Dealer Profits across the country were the highest they had ever been for 2020, only to be exceeded by 2021. All that and they did it selling less cars! Less cars by far. Will provided the DEALER INVOICE promptly when asked, as a dealer should. And for that he warrants a star!
After 2 weeks of hopeful negotiations Will unexpectedly stated he would go ahead and meet my offer on the Titan Pro-4X. $500 over DEALER INVOICE and minus any discounts I may qualify for. It seemed too good to be true. And it was! When my wife and I took time off work to go make our purchase, we called to tell him we were coming, as he had asked us to call first. "Unfortunately," he said, "we just traded the Pro 4X to another dealer." He offered to give us the same deal on a grey Titan SV. We told him we would come in to look at it first chance we got. After scheduling with work, we called to tell him we were coming in, only to be told the same lie again, that the SV had been removed to another dealer's lot for a trade. Will never had any intention of selling us a truck at that price and those trucks are still sitting there! He was working hard to avoid getting a bad review though. He ended our negotiations in his nicest voice, summoning up the politest manners right at the end. This is one dealership I can permanently cross off my list, thanks to Will and his shady tactics.
I later bought the exact truck I wanted from the Leading dealership below MSRP and above Dealer Invoice.
