I purchased a car at the beginning of July 2024 over the - lranieri512
I purchased a car at the beginning of July 2024 over the internet. I was given a price and I agreed. I financed the vehicle and was given the interest rate which I believed was high they came back with a new lower rate. I agreed. I had asked for pictures of the vehicle so I could verify that the vehicle was in good condition, marks, dents, etc. I then drove 3 plus hours to the dealership to pickup the car. Upon arriving I checked out the car, noticed some marks on the car and 2 dents the size of quarters below the gas tank door along with a couple of scratches. I was told for $50.00 or so a dent doctor could remove the dings. I then finished the paperwork and double checked that I had purchased an extended warranty. I was told it is the best bumper to pumper but never giving any paperwork to verify, I was told if I needed a repair the insurance would be verified once the VIN is entered. What do I know I don't purchased cars every day over the internet. Assuming they were a honest dealership. When I was ready to drive away I was given 1 key fob for the car I asked if there was a second one and I was told no they only have one. I asked of they would issues a second fob and I was told no it would cost $400.00 or so and they could not do it. I said why no second key. The salesperson checked with his manager and came back and said that they will split the cost with me and send me a check for half which was $ 200.00. I trusted their word and drove away. the next day I sat down and went over the sales paperwork price of car was $ 27076.00 and found that I had financed $ 33064.75 which was $ 5,988.75 more then the purchased price. when I called to ask what the extra payments were for it took me about 5 calls and about 3-4 days for someone to talk to me saying he was the manager. I asked my questions and was given answers to the effect of taxes, registration, paperwork, they went through the car and made sure it was all set, breaks, oil, and other things, and extended warranty. Not much I could do at that point. I then asked would I be receiving the $ 200.00 check they had agreed to. I was told yes as soon as the call is over he will have it sent out. Now I have the dents, dings checked out and I was told it could not be done by a dent doctor because of where they were they could not get to them. would need body work $550.00 I had it fixed. Now the temp plate I was given expires I called to ask where is the registration because the plate expired. I was told they will be in soon. It told over 3 months to receive the registration and plates. Here I am a new car and I cannot drive it because it is not registered. I called 3-4 times checking on it after the 4th or so call I am told there is a delay because the car was never VIN verified, so I had to take the car and have the VIN verified. I called and told them it was verified and at that point I was told that my sales person knew over a week that this had to be done. I had to send the VIN check via overnight mail then they had to send the VIN check to whom ever was registering the car on their behalf. another delay. After 3 months and 2-3 weeks I finally received the registration and plates. But still no $ 200.00 check. Now I am at the point it is not the $ 200.00 check but the point of it. All so now I had to replace the window wipers, had the engine light come on when I called the Cadillac dealer to make an appointment I informed them that I had purchased the extended warranty. They ask with who I told them I was informed that once they enter on VIN in the computer they will see. I was told no I need the name of the warranty company and a contact number for them. I called Open Road again took 3 calls to get someone and I was told the name and contact number. I called the warranty company and told them of what I needed they found it. Ran out of space here, I had a lot more to say not a good dealership. So far I had 2 relatives who live in NJ by pass Open Road and purchased elsewhere.
