Let me start by saying, I hate car dealers. - Hrajeepers
Let me start by saying, I hate car dealers. I hadn't purchased a car for 20 years because I hate the whole process. My opinion has changed drastically with this transaction.
When I first went into Eddy's I was following up because I had looked at a vehicle on the website and the person that was chatting with me invited me to come and look. I was only looking, and was positive I wasn't buying. Jeep had just sent me an email asking me to look at the new models, I loved my 2004, and didn't plan on giving it up.
The initial feel of the trip to this dealership was different than other places I have been in the past. Yes, Elliott immediately came out and greeted me, but allowed me to look and explore at my own pace. He showed me the vehicle, and answered the questions I had. I hadn't even driven the vehicle as I was sure I wasn't purchasing.
Once inside the building, we discussed pricing, and Todd assisted at that time, again there wasn't those games of leaving you sitting in an office for hours to try and break you down. The information I requested was handed to me in writing as soon as they had it.
Once we discussed trades, again there were no games. No hiding your car behind the building and making you sit there until you signed. My car was returned to the same spot I had parked in when I drove up, and the keys were immediately handed back to me where I was free to leave at anytime.
Here's the part where I started causing them stress. Todd called the next day that everything was approved and I could pick up the car. We set a time for the upcoming Saturday, but I got cold feet and chickened out. I couldn't spend that kind of money, and at Christmas time too boot. I didn't pick up the car.
Two weeks went buy, Christmas was over, and the end of the year was near, and I got a call from Todd. Again he was respectful, and and helpful. I can never say he was "high pressure" he was positive, and presented the deal to me, with a little betterment than before. I picked up the vehicle that night, and am very happy with the purchase. I will have to add, and some called me stupid for it, but I never even started the car, let alone drive it until I was behind the wheel to come home. I had been driving Grand Cherokees for the last 25 years, it was new, under warranty, and I didn't want to add more miles on it. I figure if something went wrong, it was their problem anyway.
I purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee L from Eddy's in December. If the transaction was stressful for anyone it had to be for the staff there, as they were very respectful, no pressure, helpful, knowledgeable, and all around just about the nicest car buying experience I have had, other than when I used a broker in the past.
Overall assessment, If I am in the market for a new/used vehicle. I would have no reservations in returning to Eddy's.
