Don't service your car here Great sales people. Poor service center. Charged me for things that should have been cover under warranty. Made assumptions instead of listening t Great sales people. Poor service center. Charged me for things that should have been cover under warranty. Made assumptions instead of listening to what I had to say. didn't fix anything that I brought in in for. And I'm almost $200 in the hole. Looking into taking my car to Maryland for service or trading it in. More

On Monday (1/21/2013) I took the OUR car (vin wmeek31x58k121489) in for the service/engine light read and for advised on what service was to be done with regards to whatever fault code it showed. wmeek31x58k121489) in for the service/engine light read and for advised on what service was to be done with regards to whatever fault code it showed. The note we left on the car asked for an oil and filter change and the 30,000 mile service but to call us first before doing any work. 24 hours went by no call. I called several times and finally got hold of our advisor Samuel Rachidi. Went over what was needed. Asked for the airfilter not to be change as it is a special K&N. Asked that the brake pad wear be checked as did not know what it was. 24 hours went by after I was told the car would be done that day or ready first thing in the morning. Starting calling aound noon for a status update. Got a message after 3:30 pm on 01.24.13 from Mr. Rachidi saying "that the fault code (we kept the message) stated that the there was only 20 psi in cylinder one and that a complete head job needed to be done". That it would take a week and that it would cost around $2,000.00. I called and left a very tearse message. When I called back an hour later finally got Mr. Rachidi on the phone I asked what the fault code was/is. I asked what was the reading of the other two cylinders were and what was normal. None of this he could or would tell me. At that point I repeated what I had left on the message. Change the oil and filter, change the cabin filter, check the breaks and change the sparkplug other 30,000 mile service requirements. That I was coming to pick up the car. When I got there 1 ½ hours later the car had had an alignment (WHICH I DID NOT ASK FOR AND WHEN ASKED FOR DETAILS OF A 30,000 MILE SERVICE MR. RACHIDI NEVER MENTIONED) The spark plugs had not been changed and am not quite sure what was done to the car. The Fault code on the receipt says P107 which everybody in the Smart world says is a manifold out of speck code (could be a onetime thing do not know). I spoke to the service manager who drove the car in and said its "a peppie little car" as he got out of it to everyone in earshot my wife included. When I addressed him about the problems he stated that a compression check had been done, a leak down test had been done and the car needed to be there from 3 - 5 days for a complete head job which required sending out the head and cyilnders for reworking and the cost would be about $2,000- $2,300.00. I asked for paper proof of the test and they story was the service advisor had left and the mechanic had gone home so it would have to wait. I have followed up NOTHING. A car with three cylinders and with one not working would not run. I took the car without repair but paid for the "SERVICE DONE" and drove it 35 miles at highway speeds to SmartCar of Germantown where they preformed several test and deemed the car WITH NO MECHNICAL PROBLEMS AT ALL. NOTHING WRONG WHEN I CAME IN MECHANICALLY AND NOTHING WRONG WHEN I PICKED THE CAR UP. More
Tyson's Corner smart is not the nearest dealership to me but I find that when I enter their showroom I am treated like an old friend. When I bought my part the technicians were busy so the sales manager did but I find that when I enter their showroom I am treated like an old friend. When I bought my part the technicians were busy so the sales manager did the installation. This dealership has stocked my favorite tea for me when I visit, knowing I do not drink coffee. If a dealership takes this much trouble to please an occasional customer I can just imagine how the regular customers are treated. More
