I was in the market for a "winter car" that would allow me to work on my (at the time only) car, which is a Corvette. After doing some research, I'd settled on the Subaru Forester, and I tried would allow me to work on my (at the time only) car, which is a Corvette. After doing some research, I'd settled on the Subaru Forester, and I tried finding the best possible price by talking to multiple dealers in Maryland. Most of them tried to coerce me into buying something they had on the lot, to the point of belittling some of the options I was interested in. For example, I wanted HID lighting because, having modified my Corvette to support a HID lighting system, I felt that the price difference between a Forester X/XT Limited and a Touring model was worth it for just the HID lighting alone. One dealer said, "Awww, that just makes your lights blue... you'd be fine with a Limited model" Since I also wanted a leather interior, I had another dealer who had located a Premium model that lacked leather seats tell me that for $1,000, he could have a custom leather interior put in that would be "better than anything from the factory" Finally, when I did find cars that were close to what I wanted -- at the time I was interested in a Forester X (not just the XT I eventually bought from Wilkins) -- they lacked things like the aero cross bars, cargo mat, and other features. Adding these to the car at the dealer involved ridiculously high labor costs. Items that were just $180 as part of the price of a new car suddenly because e$250-$350 options because the dealer had to install them. Adding a few things that i wanted (such as cargo nets!) jacked up the prices of these cars they had in stock to the point where I became very frustrated with the whole buying process. I decided to give Wilkins a try, and from the start they took a different approach with me. They asked me what I wanted -- and I decided to aim for my ideal ride, the Forester XT with all the options I wanted. Then they asked me what price I was aiming for, and I essentially "named my price," and they agreed they could get me in the ballpark. I came in to the dealership, priced out the car with all the options, and placed an order in December. I just took delivery two days ago, and I'm thrilled with the car and the experience of buying from Wilkins. I've already told my friends & family about them, and I look forward to doing business with them again the next time I buy a car. More

I appreciated Eric's efforts to get me a car quickly when I decided not to repair my old car. I also appreciated being offered the car with the navigation equipment at no additional cost. Eric was great,unfortunately nobody else was. The salesman who I couldn't tell you his name couldn't answer any of my questions. I bought a new Wrx STI, 38 k plus and after over an hour to clean the salesman who I couldn't tell you his name couldn't answer any of my questions. I bought a new Wrx STI, 38 k plus and after over an hour to clean the car it was brought to me and had only been squirted down with a hose. The car had dirt and grime on it and still had many spots on it which I told the salesman about. He assured me it would be taken care of,it was not, not even attempted. Then the car clean up manager comes out and takes the car back. It was Monday, Halloween,my sons first which I missed, the car was brought back once again, and once again the marks and spots were still there. The manager never offered me anything to make up for the laziness of his employees,my time missed with my son and never even apologized. I took the car back today to have it taken care of and once again it was not to my satisfaction. They even scratched the roof. And have it back,my new car the one I spent every penny I have on. I will never by another product or recommend a subaru from wilkins subaru. I am highly disappointed with my experience. Eric was the only person who was worth anything,as helpful as he could be. I will now have to take more of my time to take my new Dar to another dealer to fix the scratches and hopefully do the job right. More

I gave a great rating for a number of reasons. First, Steve Moss's no-nonsense manner and non-pushy approach was just what I was looking for. I don't like to walk into dealerships and feel overwhelmed by Steve Moss's no-nonsense manner and non-pushy approach was just what I was looking for. I don't like to walk into dealerships and feel overwhelmed by aggressive dealers. Approaching Steve online and working through the pricing in that way helped me feel that I was getting the best possible deal. When I met Steve, he was just as he seemed online-- extremely nice, helpful, and willing to put in lots of work to establish the best deal for me. Second, we enjoyed meeting Eric Brooks in sales. Eric took us out for a test-drive, answered our questions, and followed up with us to ask if we had more questions (but w/out being pushy.) Like, I always got the feeling that Eric was just asking what he could do to make sure we were happy. He made it seem like he was there for us. I appreciated that. Lastly, Eric was extraordinarily patient with my mother (70 years old) in explaining all of the bells & whistles on the Subaru Forester Limited that we bought. Overall, we had an extremely satisfying experience-- from customer service, to friendliness, to price. We would definitely buy another Subaru from Wilkins. More
