Mitch was my point of contact at Wilkens Subaru and he wAs the main reason I bought my Subaru 3 months later after test driving 20 diff vehicles. Although my car turned out fine, no real problems just maintenance work, the experience was abysmal. The service manager is in need of some humility. His hubris nearly cost me hundreds more than I needed to pay. I called around to make sure I was getting the going rate. I was told X price by other shops and Y price by the Wilkin's service manager... Y being much more expensive (on the order of hundreds of dollars). He tried to convince me that the other quotes were false etc... but after extensive hounding his secretary noted the error and was very helpful to fix it. I feel like they treated me as a patsy whom they didn't respect. The service manager was set in his ways and despite being hundreds of dollars off, did not readily admit his mistake or apologize. Even as I went in to the dealership he ignored me, even after being addressed by other staff who I was. No apology, no explanation. I will not be returning because I think trust is vitally important in this business. I feel that Wilkins Subaru lacks integrity and honesty when it comes to their customer service. It's this kind of experience that serves as the unfortunate reminder of the pitfalls of dealership car shops. More
We were searching for a new car (Subaru Outback 2.5i ltd) and looked in our local area and then the dealerships in the Baltimore area. We were looking for the best value for our money as well being treated respectfully and not being pressured or pushed into a sale, like so many of our previous car buying experiences. I requested an e-price and compared it with other dealerships. Wilkins was a bit higher, so initially we wrote them off. However, I received another e-mail from Steve, asking if there were certain things we were looking for, or any way he could help us find what we wanted. I sent him the price we were quoted from another dealer and asked if he could beat it. He responded that he couldn't beat their price, however he had the color car with the options we wanted, plus more options that weren't on the other dealers car. I called and drove down to Wilkins the next day to check out the car and the dealership. All of the Wilkins staff were very welcoming and friendly. Joel met me and showed me the car, then introduced me to Steve. Steve answered all of my questions, and I decided to buy the car from Wilkins. Initially we had set up an appointment to buy the car 3 days later, but my husband had time and we decided we wanted to close the deal sooner. Steve said he could absolutely have everything ready for us the following day. We also told Steve that we had several bad car buying experiences in the past and did not want to have any of the extended warranties, glass protections, etc..or be pressured to buy any. He told us it would not be a problem, we just had to sign the paperwork to decline the products. Purchase day: We met with Mitch Mitchell, who was very courteous, professional and friendly. We completed the paperwork and Mitch showed us the car and helped us set up the bluetooth. Tom Ebersole helped us with getting financing (at a lower rate than our bank) and completed the DMV/sales paperwork. AS promised, we were not pressured to buy extended warranties, etc. We completed our purchase in 1 1/2 hours, the price was as promised, no pressure, or nasty sales tactics. Everyone was very polite, courteous and friendly. This was absolutely the best car buying experience we have had. More
This will be the 2nd time I have bought a new Subaru from Wilkins. They were so great to work with the 1st time that I insisted on coming back to them even though the price on the vehicle I was interested in Wilkins. They were so great to work with the 1st time that I insisted on coming back to them even though the price on the vehicle I was interested in was a little more than I wanted to spend. Our salesman Mike worked with us to get us into the vehicle we wanted at the price we wanted, while making us feel not just like like valued customers, but "at home". Mike has a great personality and is very knowledgeable about all Subaru has to offer! I wish I would have bought my 1st Subaru from him! Because of him, and the Subaru brand, we will be back in the future for another Subaru vehicle!! More
I dealt with Steve over email when I was comparing offes from various dealers. He was very responsive and his emails always professional, at a level well above any of the correspondence I received from othe from various dealers. Mitch was the person that helped us with the paperwork and prepared the car, he was very pleasent and professional and made sure that all was in order when I took possession on the vehicle. Finally, Dave was the person we worked with for the car loan. Once again the experience was pleasent and the service efficient and impeccable. I would most certainly recommend Wilkins Subaru to anyone as it offered both the best price and the best service. More
Mitch assisted me the entire process, which took about a moth overall due to the car having to be shipped in from Japan.
