I was rushed through closing without time to review docs. Ms. Kwiatkowski was very helpful in explaining the many features of my new Highlander Hybrid. Before signing the closing documents, I asked the F&I w Ms. Kwiatkowski was very helpful in explaining the many features of my new Highlander Hybrid. Before signing the closing documents, I asked the F&I writer ("closer"), Jason Webster, whether he had the exact amount for the check I would need from the bank and he assured me that he did but did not give me the amount. I stated that my bank was closing in less than 30 minutes and wanted to go there first to get a cashiers check and I would have more time to review the closing documents when I returned. Instead, Mr. Webster insisted we get the documents signed first, saying "It will just take a couple minutes." Despite my having made at least two other requests to Mr. Webster to go to the bank before continuing the closing process , he insisted that "we're almost done." When he finally gave me the number I asked for, I rushed to the bank through evening traffic, arriving just seven minutes before closing. Of course, after reviewing the documents the next day, I realized they did not match the price I had verbally agreed to with Ms. Kwiatkowski and GM Patrick Carr which was an all-inclusive "out-the-door" price of $44,121, which was to have INCLUDED ALL taxes, fees, etc., and a $3000 credit for my trade in. However, the sales agreement which I signed in haste at the end of the day, thanks to Mr. Webster rushing me through the paperwork, had me write a check for $44,121, which is $3000 higher than I had agreed to with Ms. Kwiatkowski. This is exactly why I wanted to take more time to review the documents before signing them. When I complained to Mr. Carr, he insisted that the numbers were correct and reminded me that "this was the price agreed to." (Not by me it wasn't!). He also had Mr. Webster write me a meaningless letter of apology for withholding the information I needed to go to the bank until after I had signed the paperwork. Despite my multiple requests to him as mentioned above, Mr. Webster innocently went on to say he was "unaware [I] felt rushed and under duress." More
