My adult daughter had an oil leak "fixed" a few days ago. Dealership stated it was just a cracked drain plug. They fixed it and did an oil change. The last oil change was done at this dealership in Oc ago. Dealership stated it was just a cracked drain plug. They fixed it and did an oil change. The last oil change was done at this dealership in Oct 2022. The next day the vehicle continued to leak oil. She brought the vehicle back in and the dealership stated it was due to an after market oil plug that "cracked" the oil pan. The vehicle had the same plug in 2022. They worked on it the day before and "did not know" it was an after market oil plug? Recall they had changed to oil six months ago. And after fixing it the prior day did not know the oil pan was broken? This story does not hold together in my mind. Of note this vehicle has been mostly in storage / lightly driven for the past six months, In the end the dealership did not charge my daughter labor but forced her to pay for oil pan.
