Admitted to Lying to Customers I came in and asked about a vehicle I had found online. The salesman directed me to a different vehicle that I said I would like to purchase. He then I came in and asked about a vehicle I had found online. The salesman directed me to a different vehicle that I said I would like to purchase. He then told me that the vehicle was newly in stock and that he would have to look up the price. He quoted me a very high price and I walked away from the sale. The next day I found the same car listed on Craigslist. The car started at less then the salesman said his "bottom line" price was. I called the new salesman and he confirmed the right price and said he would hold it for me. I came in the next day to buy the car and the salesman said that he couldn't sell it to me for the listed price despite having confirmed the price the night before. I asked to speak to the manager who was very short with me and talked to everyone but me. Finally, he met with me and when I told him what happened he told me that was common practice. He said that he frequently would post low prices and that he allows his employees to jack up the prices once the customer comes into the dealership. He said that is why he puts small print under the ads. I pulled up the craigslist posting which had no small print and no "Subject to change" warning on it. He said that it's different on craigslist. He refused to give the car for the price he listed it for and said that he gave me a price for a different car anyways but it didn't matter anyways! He wouldn't even give me the quote for the car that I was trying to buy!!!!! Don't go there!!! They play by there own rules and are very rude and condescending. I couldn't make this stuff up if I wanted to. Stay away!!!!! More

I would not recommend this place to any one what a joke. the vehicle needed repairs in the amount of around 400.00 dollars. window need to be replaced brakes and rotors needed to be replaced and the check engine light was on they said it needed an o2 sensor. so they can sit on it! the funny part it was a trade in you know they didn't pay more then 3000. for it we offered 6750.00 out door they said 7000.00 oh well good luck with that one vehicle worth 7000.00 when fixed with NO problems. From the moment we drove up to this dealership for some reason we were not treated with respect. We were not offered the opportunity to test drive the vehicle we were looking at and our offer was not take reason we were not treated with respect. We were told when Jeff went to the "sales manager" he was laughed at and the counter offer he came back with was more than the marked sales price on the vehicle's mirror. It was filled with misinformation about taxes (they were higher than 6%) and the monthly payment must have haphazardly been figured with 12 percent interest because I calculated it when I got home. We are in our mid to late 50's, have purchased many vehicles in these years both new and used, and want Jeff to know that we could have paid cash for the vehicle if we really wanted to. Also, if we decided to finance, an interest of 12 percent would make me laugh! I was insulted by his remark that this offer was what the "sales manager" would "tell his mother to do". You did us a huge favor, Jeff, by steering us away from an inferior Dodge product. Everyone knows they don't make good cars. More
My wife and I went to harold and zeigler and we disliked it very much. The sales guy was 22 and very inexperienced he seemed like he was too distracted and was trying to win us over by trying too hard which it very much. The sales guy was 22 and very inexperienced he seemed like he was too distracted and was trying to win us over by trying too hard which is annoying and makes him look bad then his "boss" said he'd give us a discount since we told him we were referred by family to go check this place out and he kept trying to pressure us into buying a car that same day. We had our son with us which was getting crabby from being up too long it was almost nap time for our son and the "boss" kept trying to get us to sign for a car we didn't even like and asked us what was wrong when we came back inside from viewing the car. We might be first time buyers and young but were definitely not dumb, I let him know we just were looking and visiting the place was the first time us actually going to see a dealer and we weren't going to rush into something that we were taking our time and from what it looked like, my comment bothered him and his face expression changed to not to friendly but he knew he had to be professional so he simply said "well whenever you'd like to buy a car come check us out!". Oh and I almost forgot they kept acting interested in our son which doesn't matter what they think if he's cute or not but don't act a certain way if you don't feel like a certain way both the "boss" and the 22 year old did. They seemed fake to me since the very start and just wanted to make money of course. If they were actually sincere I would definitely consider coming back whether it was the same day or another day but not after that experience, they kept bragging how they're number 1 in southwest michigan and so and so trying to convince me to purchase a car when I obviously couldn't if they would pay more attention with our son being crabby and my wife and I have to take turns carrying him and walking him trying to distract him. Horrible experience here, I DON'T RECOMMEND. More

I had an issue with HZ when I bought the car, (post 11/27/2012) separate from that, since driving off the lot there was a warning light coming on. When I contacted them about it Jeff Holtsclaw assured me he would do everything in his power to resolve this and he did, he went to bat for us and the problem is soon to be (part ordered) corrected. Jeff’s actions are the way a dealership should be represented! He did not lie to us, BS us or mislead us, try to pull the wool over our eyes etc.etc.. He simply told us the truth and handled everything! He actually ended up going above and beyond what would have been expected. Still not happy about how the sale went down (Jeff was not involved in the original sale) but with customer services like that he may even earn my business back. This time the experience was wonderful. HZ hopefully is proud to have a person like him representing them. Thanks Jeff Tim More

-Was told tires are good by salesman on phone, which was one of my concerns, was told if tires are not good they replace them, didn’t say they charge the customer -Price dropped on 3 internet sites includi one of my concerns, was told if tires are not good they replace them, didn’t say they charge the customer -Price dropped on 3 internet sites including HZ, was told it was a mistake but would have to honor it and that now they were losing money -Was told they would replace 2 rear tires that the salesman picked up on being bad and after finding out the price was lowered said they would deduct the price from the trade in value but then could not find that brand so they said they were just going to go ahead and replace all 4 tires but again they added it to the price of the car, never was told that until I asked for a breakdown and the price of the car had went up. So charged for 4 tires when 2 were still good not that that matters because as is or not the tires should have all been good in the first place! When I called the rectification was "well we don’t have to put the tires on" REALLY, after I was just told 2 are bad and they could find a match? -Had a $250 off and 3 oil changes by printing craigslist ad, was told only honored by Ben Floor which it does say, I said I have no problem switching salesman and was told it does not matter anyhow because of the price difference but they would honor the 3 free oil change part… doesn’t say a word about no good if price is reduced. Several price changes on car with same ad! -I did buy the car and feel I received a fair deal but it is how it went down that is very disappointing, because of someone’s mistake lowering to the wrong price I ended up on losing out on $620, ($370 for tires and $250 CL discount ad) **Hope it is worth bad reviews and now a non-repeat customer More
