I drove 5 hours to look at a truck as a motivated buyer. It was extremely obvious I was being taken advantage of because of my drive; the trade value of my current truck was so low it was insulting and the It was extremely obvious I was being taken advantage of because of my drive; the trade value of my current truck was so low it was insulting and the sticker price didn’t budge. I brought my own financing arrangements, explained I wasn’t going to finance with them, and still was bombarded with the financial sales pitch again and again. I understand the business aspect of financing through a dealership, and I respected that by listening to what they had to offer. However, I received no respect in return even after explaining to Carlos I was NOT interested in financing through the dealership. Be advised there is a “mandatory” purchase of a theft tracking device the dealership places in their vehicles for THEIR benefit (A 7 year tracking service with a reasonable recovery guarantee is included however.) I was told by Carlos that Zeigler dealerships now have the tracking devices because the OWNER was tired of HIS inventory being stolen and never recovered (I’d really like to think they wouldn’t have recovered stolen vehicles on their lot) I interpreted this as the costumer is paying for the owner’s misfortune. I left after about an hour of speaking with Carlos and explaining I did not need, and would not purchase a theft tracking device(I pay an insurance premium for a reason, if they wanted me to have it they would provide it) Carlos informs me in his rebuttal “I must not care about my material belongings.” Multiple phone calls, emails, and text messages on my 5 hour drive home filled with Zeigler sales staff apologizing and back peddling on their insulting offer. Zeigler staff I hope this review reaches the top because your sales approach for a distant costumer was insulting and very unexpected; I make a habit to deal ONLY with manufacturer affiliated dealerships to stray from unethical business… I’m now aware that standard isn’t valued at your dealership. In closing, I found a similar truck on my way home and was able to make a deal with an affiliated Ford dealership in 20 minutes; approximately 14k below Carlos’s(and his managers) offer. More
