Shady or Greedy? I was working with the Younger dealership for several weeks to put together a deal on a 996 generation Porsche 911. On the initial call, Ken did his best to answer specific questions about the car, but it was clear (and to be expected) he new little about the vehicle. He did, however, provide the number of the Porsche dealership who had performed some recent repairs. I asked Ken if they also allowed pre-purchase inspections and he said “yes.” After speaking with the Porsche dealer service writer, it was clear the service performed was limited to a list of items Younger had specified and no additional inspection was performed. Moreover, it was apparent a thorough inspection was needed. I then spent the next couple days speaking with a half dozen Porsche specialist shops in the surrounding 50 mile radius. I came back to the dealership with 2 Porsche specialist shops who knew what they were doing. The next week, I worked with Ken to hammer down a price so that no one’s time would be wasted with a PPI if we weren’t close on a deal. I asked if they could help get the car to the shop 15 miles away for a PPI as I lived out of state. Ken claimed he was told, presumably by Dave, they didn’t have the man power to get it there. While I found it odd no one was able to take the car on their lunch down the road to close a deal, I wished them the best and was ready to move on, unwilling to gamble on a used 17 year old German sportscar on the word of a Toyota sales rep. The car didn’t sell that weekend either, so I called back Monday morning to let them know I was planning to take the day off at the end of the week, drive to Maryland, and take it to the shop myself. Ken ignored my call. My email later in the day wasn’t answered. My text the next day was ignored. Running out of time to make plans to take off work and with the Porsche specialist to inspect the car, the following day, Wednesday, I called the dealership and asked another sales person, DJ, about the PPI. DJ said he’d be right back with an answer. DJ never called, but Ken did. Ken’s explanation was as insulting as it was insincere: apparently Younger Toyota wouldn’t allow a specialist to look at the car because they were worried about someone (me) “joyriding” the car. Because that’s what people do: drive 4 hours to Western Maryland and pay $300 for a mechanic to inspect the car so they can “joyride” it. My question to Dave, Ken and the rest of the folks at Younger: did you waste my time because you’re not willing to honor the price you quoted or are you hiding a known problem with the vehicle? More

New vehicle purchase I was in the dealership for service on a vehicle. He talked to me about how I liked the vehicle I was having serviced (2017 Toyota Sienna). He asked if I was interested in any of the vehicles I was looking at. I said not really but I did like the look of the new Highlanders. John asked if I had ever driven one and I said no. He suggested we go for a drive. We did and he explained probably everything there was to know about the Highlander. There was no rush or pressure whatsoever. When we returned to the dealership he asked if he may give me an offer for my Sienna and a price on the Highlander. I said yes and he spent a few minutes away and came back with offers for both. I said no thanks, that there was too much difference. He asked how much was too much. He then asked if I would mind waiting another minute or two while he spoke with his manager. Well, I was very surprised when he came back with the literal "offer I couldn't refuse". This was the easiest new vehicle purchase I have ever experienced. No pressure, no bs, highly professional, answered every concern and question and walked me through every step. Even though I wasn't prepared with the title to the Sienna he said there was no problem to bring it back the next day. This was a pleasant total experience. More

It did not take them any time at all for us to take a test drive in the car which went well. Gary let me take the car wherever I wanted which was change form others that only let us go a mile or two before returning to the dealership. There was no pressure to buy the car but we liked it and made the deal. Gary was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a new or used car!!! More

2017 Toyota Highlander seat stain Our 2017 Toyota Highlander that we purchased new from Younger ended up getting a stain about a month after we purchased the vehicle from my daughter's Our 2017 Toyota Highlander that we purchased new from Younger ended up getting a stain about a month after we purchased the vehicle from my daughter's belt. We started noticing additional discoloration on the other leather seats as time passed. We brought this to the attention of Shannon Mills and the service adviser was Denny. They could not have been more helpful in resolving our issue. They inspected the seats and attempted to clean the stains, but when that did not resolve the issue they moved forward with replacing the stained seat and applying additional leather protector to the cabin seats. Working with Shannon was easy and she made us feel like Younger Toyota really cared about our concerns. I will say that we had purchased several Honda's from Hagerstown Honda throughout the years, but we encountered an issue with our CRV that Honda would not address and basically told us that they didn't care if we looked at other makes of vehicles. Since that point we have purchased two camrys for our children and the Toyota Highlander from Younger Toyota. Younger Toyota will be our dealership from this point on. We love our Highlander....... I would also like to note that John Ashby from corporate was very attentive and helpful in making sure that we were happy with the progress in resolving the issue. More
