On 3/9/2021 I brought my 2016 Sorento (only 18,923 miles on my car) in for service - NYS inspection and an oil/filter change. After these services were done I was told by Jeffrey Garceau - service advisor on my car) in for service - NYS inspection and an oil/filter change. After these services were done I was told by Jeffrey Garceau - service advisor – that it is recommended that my coolant should be changed because my car is over 5 year old. I guess the mechanic did not actually check my coolant because I had it changed on 9/25/2019 at 16,395 miles. I had my previous service reports with me which I mentioned to Jeffrey. If I just let him change the coolant I would have paid for an unnecessary service. Was this just a simple mistake??? Also Jeffrey tells me that come this fall I will need new tires (all 4 ) they are now rated 4 out of 10 - it is recommended that my v belt needs to be changed ( I have about 19,000 miles on my car) and my old brake fluid needs to be replaced. Were these recommendations made based on actually looking at my car or just based on the age of my car like the coolant. On 3/11/2020 I had by front brakes replaced (at 17, 390 miles) and on 10/26/2020 I had my rear brakes replaced ( 18,340 miles). Now months later I am told that my old brake fluid needs to be changed. My questions are did they actually change my front and back brakes when they said they did and wouldn’t they have checked the brake fluid either of these times to see if good. Just a question. Because of these concerns mentioned above I took my car to an outside mechanic on 3/23/2021 who said that my car was in good shape except that the only thing I needed was a gallon of washer fluid and THAT I NEEDED AN OIL/FILTER CHANGE which he did. I was surprised because I paid for an oil/filter change on my visit on 3/9/2021. What did they actually do on my last visit??? Now I have to question everything that was done or not done on that day and previous visits. I am writing to you to bring this information to your attention and also I am requesting a refund (not a credit) of the cost of the oil/filter changed which I paid for but did not receive. Please mail the refund to me. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE WHY CAR DEALERSHIPS IN GENERAL HAVE SUCH A POOR RATING. I would appreciate your thoughts on these issues. I had a great experience at Kia Yonkers. Scheduling an appointment online was a breeze. The process at arrival was efficient. The staff there were all courteous and professional. Amir was great. He explained to me what was going to be done and told me about a recall (which I had to come back for). I waited in the customer area and the entire process took a few hours (was expected). I had an excellent experience at Kia Yonkers, Darlyn was extremely helpful. I had a recall which took 3 hours to run on the machine for testing. They were also going to do a maintenance inspection for my extremely helpful. I had a recall which took 3 hours to run on the machine for testing. They were also going to do a maintenance inspection for my car. They drove me home and called me with the result that, my car Engine recall was ok. However they changed my oil, rotated my tires and told me that I needed windshield wipers which I knew and also my filters needed replacement. I had them do all. What a lovely staff at Yonkers Kia. Everyone was sooo nice. Even my driver, sorry if forgot his name, a very nice guy, Darlyn just stood out being so sweet, she is a real credit to your company. More
