I had been toying with the idea of purchasing a new car since my current Subaru has 166000 miles on it and I need a reliable car for work travel. I was a bit hesitant as I had some difficulty getting approved for a car loan several years ago. The process at Yark went very smoothly and I had no difficulty at all getting the loan. Picking a car was easy too. I already know the Subaru reputation and I just needed to tst drive a couple of different models. I was given the nam Hello, I just wanted to inform you of my experience at the Yark Subaru off of Central Rd. Today I went to test drive a used car. I was given the name of a "GREAT" sales consultant at your dealership by another sales consultant at Yark Chrysler. When I arrived I walked in and was greeted and told they would find Mia Knicely (the name of the "GREAT" sales consultant that I was given) so she could help us. Just a few minutes later Mia came out, then proceeded to try to help us. I explained to her my situation and asked to test drive the car I was interested in. I was accompanied by my mother because, I am 17 yrs old soon to be 18 in April. She asked us to take a seat to talk with us before the test drive. As I began to tell her about what I wanted to get out of this appointment (that I have saved money and will be putting a cash payment down plus a loan when I turn 18), what I wanted in a car, and why I was interested in that specific car, she proceeded to tell me everything negative about that car. I understand she wanted to sell me a new Subaru and not a used Volkswagen, but it went as far as her telling me that she did not think I would be able, as a younger driver, to handle this car. She told me stories of younger people buying these cars and days after purchasing them, they lost control and wrapped them around telephone polls. I told her that I believed I could handle myself to test drive a car and that I was still interested in it. Mia said, "Okay,I just wanted to inform you of these things." and took my license and insurance card to set up the test drive. About 10 minutes later, Mia and Blaine Marston came out to, what started out as, informing me that they were too busy that day to test drive a car that I wasn't going to buy that same day, to the car I want was just sold 10 minutes ago. He informed me that it was a Saturday and that day was the busiest day for selling cars but I could schedule an appointment some other day that would be better for him. He continued to say that the car I was interested in was just sold and maybe a Subaru would be more suitable. Mia commented, "Oh well no wonder I couldn't find the keys." I took my things and left. Later in the day, I called just to see if the car was truly sold. Not to my surprise, I was informed that it was still available on the lot! Not only were they disrespectful and rude but they were not truthful with me. This has been the WORST experience that I have over had. Not only will I never go back but I will DEFINITELY share this experience with my family and friends. More

Additionally, Scott made my partner and I feel at home. There was a seamless transition between him and the financial manager, Vince. Vince was direct and genuinely pro-active in obtaining the best financial decision for us, as the customer. He was efficient in time usage and charismatic and witty, as well. As first time Subaru buyers our experience could not have been better. Truly. More

Terrible experience I have plenty of cash to buy Terrible experience I have plenty of cash to buy several of their cars yet they would not even let me test drive a vehicle because the manager said Terrible experience I have plenty of cash to buy several of their cars yet they would not even let me test drive a vehicle because the manager said he did not believe I had adequate insurance when In fact I had full coverage and currant proof of that insurance. You need full insurance to even test drive their cars and I DID prove full insurance coverage. I had Safeco insurance which is a division of Liberty Mutual which he did not even hear of apparently. I called my insurance agent to have him verify on the phone but he did would not come out of the back room for 20 min to speak direct to my agent. Bottom Line. It was obvious that for some reason they did not want to sell me a car or even let me drive one. It was an extremely frustrating situation, and I do not know why they refuse to let me test drive even having salesman going with me. I am 50 years old and have a perfect driving record since age 16. I am clean person but I have medium long hair for a man and was wearing a hat and jeans so my guess is they profiled me based on my clothing and hair length thinking I had no money but the fact is I have enough money to buy several of those new cars. Better that I never do business with them ever and let others know how they treat people. More

This is my 4th Subaru purchased from Yark and I couldn't be happier. Can't imagine ever buying a car from another dealer. Scott Singer is an extraordinary sales rep - he knows his customers, what they need, and works miracles to get them a good deal. I rate Yark a 15 on a scale of 1-10! More
