As a first-time Toyota owner—having previously driven Nissan vehicles—I selected Toyota based on its longstanding reputation for engineering excellence, reliability, and industry-leading service standards. I genuinely love my Camry and entered this ownership experience with full confidence in the Toyota brand. Unfortunately, my recent service encounters have significantly eroded that confidence. Initial Visit – February 3, 2026 I presented my vehicle due to persistent transmission-related symptoms, specifically: • Noticeable stuttering and slipping • Hesitation during acceleration • Inability to exceed 35 mph at times • Illumination of the check engine light Prior to visiting the dealership, I obtained a diagnostic scan from O’Reilly Auto Parts, which indicated code P26AE – Engine Coolant Bypass Valve “B” Control Circuit High. Because Toyota is widely regarded as the premier automotive manufacturer in the United States, I elected to have the matter professionally evaluated and corrected by Toyota-certified technicians. After paying the diagnostic fee, I was informed that the engine shut-off valve required replacement and that this repair would be covered under a Customer Support Program at no cost.
