Rating Title: SHADY AND UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES I HAVE MAJOR CONCERNS ABOUT THIS TOYOTA LOCATION IN GEORGIA. So I decided to try my luck at World Toyota in (Atlanta, Georgia on Peachtr PRACTICES I HAVE MAJOR CONCERNS ABOUT THIS TOYOTA LOCATION IN GEORGIA. So I decided to try my luck at World Toyota in (Atlanta, Georgia on Peachtree Blvd). I worked with another salesperson, Diego. He and the sales manager helped me find a vehicle and I was able to get a reasonable monthly payment. Everything seemed just fine and I left the dealership feeling great about my car and about my experience. I was even going to send my sister to Diego. UNTIL I experienced yet another lie from Toyota personnel. Diego told me in person and during a phone conversation after my purchase that I would be receiving a check once the dealership paid off the rest of my car that represented the equity that I received from my vehicle. Keep in mind that he volunteered this information: I had no expectation of an equity check until he told me I would receive one. My primary concern was actually about my old car note. I had paid my car note for my old car and got a new one and was wondering if that amount would be prorated or given back to me so that I wasn’t paying two notes in a short amount of time. Diego told me that I would be getting my previous car note back on top of the equity check. I repeated what he said to me, and he confirmed and so naturally, as a customer, I was expecting a check but never did. When I called the lender to make sure they had received everything they needed to release the check, they informed me that there was no check to process. They said in order to do so they would need an overage document. So I called Diego to let him know what I needed and again, a shift happened. He started telling me that I misunderstood what he said, implying that I was lying. I then learned from one of the managers that the equity from my car was actually applied to my new vehicle. I was perfectly okay with that but something different was communicated to me. I encouraged the manager to pull the recordings of phone calls so they could hear Diego and me speaking because I explained to them that my expectations were solely impacted by what I was told, which was a blatant lie from Diego. A HUGE RED FLAG during the conversation was her saying that she would listen to the recordings but also that she would talk to the sales manager to if he made an agreement with me on the side. There should be NO SIDE DEALS going on and she admitted that that was happening. They said they would look into it but there’s been no indication since that they actually have. My experience at these locations makes me not even want to work with Toyota period. Salespeople and sales managers will tell you one thing. Finance managers will tell you another. Everywhere you turn, people are either lying to you, misleading, or pressuring you. I want to spread this message so no one else has to deal with this type of immoral and unethical treatment again.
