We are thrilled with our truck and very appreciative of the treatment we received from Freddie, the sales department, the service department and the finance office. We traded our Dodge Caliber which was a great car for the Journey which was a little bigger for our needs. Quick and easy! Pride and respect from the company to us as the customer, if Freddie didn't have an answer he found it. If you love your job you never have to work another day in your life and that was Freddie. It's obvious he loves what he does. Signing papers was quick and easy, great team effort! Would recommend to anyone Withnell's Company Team for purchasing a vehicle! More
NEVER AGAIN: DISHONEST SERVICE DEPARTMENT I took my Dodge van to get the transmission replaced. 12 miles into the short trip home, the new transmission made a very loud crunching sound and loc I took my Dodge van to get the transmission replaced. 12 miles into the short trip home, the new transmission made a very loud crunching sound and locked up. Short story, they charged me an additional $350 to fix it, holding my vehicle hostage until paid. Service manager was extremely rude, without a valid reason why additional $350 should be paid by me . By the way, I am a mechanic with over 45 years experience on everything from aircraft to heavy equipment, but with health restrictions- so no more working on my own cars. More
My first car purchase :) 2011 Mazda3 After walking around in the car lot for only a few minutes and getting a feel for the used cars that withnell had to offer, we were approached by a v After walking around in the car lot for only a few minutes and getting a feel for the used cars that withnell had to offer, we were approached by a very friendly car salesman Brent, he was able to answer all of our questions and concerns. Brent even showed us a couple different cars that we had in mind them being a few Toyotas and Hondas models, the Mazda3 that I instantly was darn to, his mother in law happened to be the previous owner.Brent knew the history of the car pretty well, he could tell how interested I was in this car and offered to do a test drive. I did not hesitate and we went for a test drive. I was very happy with the way that this experience was going, it didn't feel like a test drive... it felt more like just going for a short drive with a new friend. Brent made the whole process very smooth, he really seemed to understand what I wanted and needed out of a newer car (2011 mazda3). The whole team at Withnell Dodge that we dealt with was very helpful and personable with us. There weren't any concerns that weren't addressed. Pricing seemed pretty good and they negotiated with us to make a great deal. Overall it was a great experience and I couldn't be happier with my new car. I would definitely recommend checking them out to my friends and family. My father helped me get my new car and he seemed to enjoy the great customer service that we received from the withnell dodge team. More

My husband and I went into the dealership before they opened on a Sunday afternoon. We were approached by Wayne, who was great to work with, shortly after opening. We dealt with him for a few hours, afte opened on a Sunday afternoon. We were approached by Wayne, who was great to work with, shortly after opening. We dealt with him for a few hours, after a test drive and 45 minutes worth of contemplation we decided to make an offer on a pre-owned 2011 dodge ram 1500. In typical car dealership fashion this car had big neon yellow price stickers across the windshield advertising an "Internet sale of $29,500." We placed a realistic offer expecting that the dealership would counter offer us, that offer was $27,500. Up until this point our experience had been pleasant. Wayne had answered all of our questions regarding the vehicle and even showed us things we hadn't noticed! He was never pushy and made us feel very confident in the vehicle we WERE about to purchase. The next step of the process was handled by a gentleman I believe to be named Robert. This is where are "great experience" goes astray.... They came back with an offer of $29,728 and INSISTED that this was as low as they could go---- Incase you didn't catch that, that is $278 OVER the price on the windshield. My husband and I of course caught this error immediately and spoke up. Robert again insisted that $29,500 was the lowest they could go, that they would honor the price plastered across the truck windshield. Not even entertaining or offer of 27,500 we obviously decided to walk. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend this dealership to anyone. Their lack of customer service is beyond me! Had they corrected their mistake and came back at $29,000 (only $500 under the asking price) we would have "driven" away happy in our new truck. More
We purchased a used vehicle from this dealership's "sister" store (the hyundai store) several years back. While it has been a good vehicle there have been a few issues with it that were "masked" in a "sister" store (the hyundai store) several years back. While it has been a good vehicle there have been a few issues with it that were "masked" in a way by the dealership (such as the "scent" wearing off and a cigarette smell coming through a few weeks later after being told it was a non-smokers car). Currently we're shopping for a new Dodge or Jeep and since I can't fault this store for the actions of a salesman at another lot we decided to see what kind of 4th of July sales Withnell Dodge is offering. I looked over the sticker of the model we're interested and asked the salesman about the sale price on that vehicle. He went inside to the office where the manager was and came back out about 15 minutes later with price "worksheet". I'll round the numbers off but here's the gist of it, MSRP of $21,500, added to that a half page of "fees" such as "dealership advertising cost" "dealer prep" etc. etc. totalling around $3800 bringing the price to $25,300. From THAT price he subtracted the current rebates and incentives bringing the price back down to the full MSRP price (give or take $50). In essence, trying to have us pay FULL price for a car during a big sales event week. And all of that under the watchfull eye of the "Sales Manager". This is what's known (among other names) as "Additional Dealer Markup (ADM)". If you see that, turn around, walk out the door and never return. To give you an idea of agregious that is you have to look at a few things the manufacturers and dealer try to hide from you. Prior to the "Internet" a dealership would pay the factory for a car (the "invoice" price) and then add around 15 - 18% for their costs and profits etc. Now that's around 5% (or sometimes lower or even higher). What happened to the rest you say? It's been moved over to the "invoice" price column and then get's kicked back to the dealer after the sale in the form of things such as "Holdback" and "Factory to dealer Incentives" and monthly or quarterly "quota goal bonuses". In other words, Invoice is not even the actual "cost" to the dealership. That's the cost to the dealership before money gets kicked back to the dealer AFTER the sale of the car and that's IF the invoice is the ACTUAL invoice cost to the dealer. In essence that means they take a car, that has a profit for the dealer automatically built into the invoice price, they add the rest of the profit to that in the form of the "MSRP" price, and THEN add on the "buffer" so that you won't negotiate down into their full profit or even get you to pay even more for the car then the retail price is meanwhile telling you that they're giving you a "sale" price. I find that outrageous and deceptive. You would do better to find a better reputable dealership even if you have to drive a little to Portland, Eugene or some other nearby area. Edit - Almost forgot, when given this ridiculous price, I mentioned that another dealer is listing that same vehicle for $2250 (the rebates) below MSRP. I even showed him the ad with the VIN number on my smart phone. He left and came back stating that the vehicle in the ad didn't have two options that were in the vehicle he was showing us and that's why it was that much cheaper. He then went on to badmouth the other dealership telling us that what they would do is get us down there and then tell us that the price included rebates we didn't qualify for (sub-prime rebate, military etc.) and that it's just a ploy to reel people into the dealership. After we left I called the other dealership and asked them about the price of their vehicle and of course did NOT include any rebates other than the 2 normal rebates the pretty much everyone qualifies for. On top of that, I checked the dealership's website after I got home and the vehicle was exactly the same as the one at Withnell. Same package group, same features, exactly the same. The only difference was it was red and Withnell had only black and silver (which according to the Dodge website the colors don't affect the price). I call that a flat out lie on the part of the salesman. I gave them 3 stars on the "friendliness" because I can't say they weren't friendly, as they tried to take me for a ride. More

The car buying experience was great, salesman was Freddie Cruz. Freddie went above and beyond to make sure that my wife got the car that she wanted, and that she was totally happy with the car. We had to g Cruz. Freddie went above and beyond to make sure that my wife got the car that she wanted, and that she was totally happy with the car. We had to get the car from another dealer, because Withnell didn't have a black Challenger on the lot. The first car that they found turned out to have some damage which that dealer tried to get them to take it anyway, Withnell turned them down and found us a car from another dealer. I appreciated the integrity that Withnell showed. The buying experience went downhill once I started dealing with the finance department. The communication between them and the customer is terrible. I've had to go back 2 or 3 times to sign paperwork. When we do sign paperwork, they forget to give you the copies. I signed the loan paperwork 10 days ago, she forgot to give me the paperwork, when I called her that evening 10 days ago, I asked her to mail the paperwork to me, since I was tired of always having to go in there, she said that she would do that. 10 days have gone by, no paperwork! My calls are going to voicemail, which she doesn't seem to want to return any of my calls. I have explained to her, when I can finally get her on the phone, that my insurance company would like the bank information, so it's kind of important for me to have that paperwork, but she still won't send it to me. I'll try calling again today, maybe she'll answer the phone! More
I cannot express how much I appreciate the respect and service I received during my purchase a 2012 Durango. My only complaint is that I couldn't find anything to complain about(LOL). Although my attitude service I received during my purchase a 2012 Durango. My only complaint is that I couldn't find anything to complain about(LOL). Although my attitude walking in to the dealership was anything but positive, all my previous experiences buying a vehicle had my attitude toward any dealership was very negative. I was treated so well by Withnell that my next purchase will not be a dreaded task but something to look forward to. Kindest Regards, Cheryl Crowe 5543 Oak Heights Court SE Salem, OR 760-807-7175 More
