Best ever I just came back from a horrible experience from Kia and Winner welcomed me with open arms even though it was close to closing time. I was comparing the Santa Fe to another manufacturer and actually visited the dealership two times on the same day. They not only remembered I had been there but also remembered not only what I was looking for but also my name. I received a call from my salesman within the first three days just checking to see how I was making out with my new car. I stopped by the dealership a week later to drop off tag information and was greeted by name again. It is nice to see that you are made to feel welcome after the sale. More
Did not honor 100,000 mile warranty. My story is...My husband, two children (under 10) and I live in CT. We were at our summer home in Fenwick Island DE to celebrate the New Year. Over the weekend of January 1, 2016 we heard a clicking in our engine. On Sunday, January 3, we found an open garage and asked the mechanic to take a look at the car and see if he could determine what the clicking was from. He did and he suggested we wait until Monday and take it to a Hyundai dealership before trying to drive it back to CT. That is what we did. We stayed an extra night, took a day off of work and kept our children from school. We brought the car in first thing Monday, 01/04, morning to your dealership. My husband checked the oil before we left the house (because the mechanic told us there appeared to be a leak in the gasket) and we were only down about 1/4. Drove the car to your Dover Dealership. Your service people/mechanics looked at the car drained the oil without checking how much was in the car (which is what we were told by the GM, Mark) and gave us the green light to head home to CT. We were charged $35 and change. I asked, specifically, are you sure the car is alright to drive to CT I have two small children and would hate to get caught on the highway home. I was assured the car was safe but was told to bring it to our Hyundai dealership in CT when we could. We thanked everyone got in the car and headed for home. As we drove off the car was making a worse noise then when we brought it in for service. We made it 12 miles down the road and the car died, in the middle of an intersection with my two boys. We called the dealership we just left, 15 minutes ago, and were told you couldn't help us. No tow truck, no ride, no nothing. we were stuck on our own with a dead car. we called and got a flatbed to bring the car back to your dealership and waited the rest of the afternoon to be told you could not lend us a car and the engine was shot. After going back and forth a car was finally provided to us so we could return to our summer home in Fenwick for the night. The next morning, 01/05, we returned to the dealership and we were told, in confidence that the Santa Fe's were being recalled at the end of the month for engine problems. We were also told that most likely (90% sure...not to worry) the engine and car rental (to get back to CT) would all be covered by Hyundai. All good news. We rented a car and went home to CT. Friday, 01/08, my husband received a call that the recall and or the warranty (which is the reason we went with Hyundai to begin with) would not be honored and the engine was our problem. I was shocked and devastated. My husband and I looked long and hard at several other cars and the deal that Hyundai presented to us, full warranty for 100,000 miles or less, road side service and a loaner car made it a no brainer for us to purchase a Santa Fe. For the safety of our family we were willing to spend more money. I am so upset and disappointed that this is not being honored. I have already spoken with attorneys on how to proceed and I will not let this rest. I will be sure to let everyone I know and communicate with to never, ever purchase a Hyundai for they do NOT stand true to their word. I have had several cars in my adult life and this is by far the worst experience I have EVER had. More
