I understand your frustration on the plates and I’m sorry we contributed to this mess. Our intention was to save you money and we didn’t do a good job of communicating to you the trade-off. Namely, that with the savings of a plate transfer, you’d be stepping down to only a 2-year registration. We didn’t understand that the most important thing to you was a 4-year registration, regardless of your cost. I want to do everything reasonable to make you happy. When you came in , your salesperson even drove your vehicle out to DEQ. We would not have done this if we did not care about you as a customer. I do agree with you that it seems silly for DMV to require DEQ testing on a new vehicle. So, I see your point about dealing with DMV and being upset about it. I hope you see my point that there is no benefit to Wilsonville Toyota to put you in a 2-year registration versus a 4-year one. It doesn’t matter to us either way. The only thing that does matter is what our customers want. We thought you wanted to save some money. If you had paid for 4 year plates it would have cost you an additional $189. In 2 years, your registration costs will be $86 (+ $21 DEQ fee if you still live in a testing-required region in Oregon.) Bring the car in when you get the notice from DMV in 2 years and I’ll be happy to run it through DEQ for you. Just like we did. I am NOT satisfied; your answer again shows how hard it is for you to accept the very poor and unprofessional way (quote from D.M.V) that you handle the paperwork of my new vehicle. I NEVER asked to save money on the registration. As I mention, I didn't know that the old plates could be kept, it was the salesman decision. When I want back to your dealership he told me that he had made a mistake and that he was stupid..ask the lady who was with him! Your offer to take my vehicle to DEQ in 2 years, ...what a cheap shot. The lady I talked to when I came back asked me what will make me happy, I asked for you to pay the DEQ test and my registration fee. She told me she would do it...well, when she came back from DEQ she didn't hold her promise, never paid the registration. Another cheap shot! I will no further waste my time with you. I told you at the dealership that I would file a report with the Dealer Association and with Toyota. You didn't express any excuses and are not showing any collaboration to do the most important thing in business "keep the customer HAPPY".
