Our recommendations for these repairs were based on physical inspection and we urge you to seek repairs soon, whether with us or another qualified Subaru service center. In the words of our technician, “the left front ball joint is so worn and loose, it feels like the wheel is about to fall off.” In addition, the passenger front strut is visibly leaking fluid. Our service manager, Rob Corder, invites you to bring your vehicle in and he’d be happy to walk through these items together with you to ease any concerns you may have.

"repairs were based on physical inspection" Not according to your service representative. What I wrote was what he told me. He said the ball joint recommendation was based on a noise heard when driving the car into the shop and the struts are recommended to be replaced at the same time. There was no mention, from him or any of the reports you provided, of leaks or wheels about to fall off. Further, he said that the filter recommendations were based on mileage (not inspection). If these were such serious issues why didn't the inspection report include pictures of the issues? The only pictures were of the radiator overflow hose being disconnected. In summary: - There are no visible leaks in the passenger front struct. - The left front ball joint has has the same feel as the right. - The battery terminals you said were corroded are not (This was another $92 must fix now on your list). There was some leftover corrosion on the battery bracket from the previous battery but the terminals are clean.

I am still not satisfied with the resolution to the problem. I’m still paying more than I authorized, even with credits and gift cards. The biggest “resolution” was an in-store credit. Why would I want to go back to a place that offers such incredibly bad service? I’m afraid I’ll take my car in for one thing to use the credit, and be told after the work is done that the estimate I’m given doesn’t really mean anything and I’m stuck paying a whole lot more the in-store credit I have. It’s almost a worthless resolution to me.
