Thanks Wilson Toyota and Mark for the kind and helpful assistance in buying my Crown Toyota. Being in my 80s and not very tech savvy, Marc was so patient in assisting me to learn about my Crown Vehicle. S assistance in buying my Crown Toyota. Being in my 80s and not very tech savvy, Marc was so patient in assisting me to learn about my Crown Vehicle. Some of my early driving in it was on snowy roads and it handled well. I love the color, style, and safety fetchers. More
Ethan (purchaser and Colorado resident), regarding the purchase of a 2015 Toyota 4Runner (VIN ending 59346) that was completed only after an extraordinary amount of frustration, miscommunication, and outr purchase of a 2015 Toyota 4Runner (VIN ending 59346) that was completed only after an extraordinary amount of frustration, miscommunication, and outright misrepresentation by multiple members of your staff. Below is a chronological summary of events that experience: 1. Sunday, Nov 16– Monday, Nov 17 We located a different 4Runner (VIN ending 34163) on your website and inquired that evening. No response was received until we followed up the next morning. After receiving photos showing beginning rust, we declined that vehicle but expressed interest in the newly-traded red 2015 4Runner that had not yet been photographed. We were assured by Andrea (and later by the salesperson) that the red unit was “the cleanest 2015 4Runner” you had and was simply awaiting inspection. 2. Monday, Nov 17 evening After learning Andrea does not sell vehicles, the assigned salesperson took over. I repeatedly asked him to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and photograph/disclose any damage or imperfections. No damage was mentioned or shown. 3. Negotiations Because Ethan lives in Colorado and was bringing a trade-in (Jeep), we negotiated remotely. Your team provided an ACV of $10,000.00 on the Jeep and a firm out-the-door price on the 4Runner. I made it clear we had not seen or driven either vehicle and that we had a lower-mileage, newer 4Runner available locally in Des Moines. After discussion, your sales manager reduced the 4Runner by $1,000. I placed a $1,000 credit-card deposit and Ethan committed to drive from Colorado arriving Wednesday with the trade. No final negotiations were made or expectations given that evening. 4. Wednesday, Nov 19 – Delivery & Discovery of Damage Ethan arrived, turned over the Jeep keys, and test-drove the 4Runner, and immediately discovered: • A large hole in the rear bumper (never disclosed or photographed) • A cracked/damaged passenger-side mirror Your sales manager never test-drove the Jeep trade-in that had just traveled across two states. 5. Renegotiation & Additional Concessions During the negotiations I was informed there were other parties interested in buying the vehicle but did not. Not a good sales tactic to use, given we provided a deposit and negotiated in good faith from the beginning. Next time write a backup. In addition, I was informed this was the cleanest 2015 forerunner. I have a 2015 forerunner with more miles that is much cleaner and it to was second owner vehicle. Only after I insisted on further negotiation with the salesperson did your team offer an additional $500 reduction for the undisclosed damage plus another $200 discount. We reluctantly accepted and signed. 6. Title & Funding Issues (Nov 28 – Dec 2) Ethan follow up on the Colorado title. On Tuesday, December 2 he was told your business office had received the wire days earlier but “forgot” to release and overnight the title — yet another unnecessary delay and inconvenience. More

Wilson’s is fine if you want to buy new, but absolutely avoid buying used. After trading down into less pickup in order to free up cash, they sold me a vehicle that soon had an engine light going off, oil avoid buying used. After trading down into less pickup in order to free up cash, they sold me a vehicle that soon had an engine light going off, oil not changed, a great deal of rust underneath, no apparent inspection, and an undisclosed accident. End result—they sold me a 4x pickup for $17k that was worth $4k less than a year later, after few miles added. This was after a 12 year relationship of buying a number of new vehicles. They were extremely unresponsive regarding that pickup. I have not only decided to never do business with Wilson’s again—I quit driving Toyotas. The betrayal of my loyalty was unforgivable More

The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and gen Wilson Toyota of Ames. From start to finish, the process was smooth, transparent, and stress-free. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Sam took the time to answer all my questions, explained every feature of the car in detail, and never once made me feel pressured. I also want to highlight how well-prepared the car was: spotless, fueled, and ready to drive the moment I arrived. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase or the level of service I received. Wilson sold me a pre-owned vehicle with no AC during cold weather, so I didn't know. They didn't tell me it was broken. They wouldn't offer a warranty. When I needed the AC and found out, they refused to hel weather, so I didn't know. They didn't tell me it was broken. They wouldn't offer a warranty. When I needed the AC and found out, they refused to help in any way and sent me elsewhere, saying it was too late. It was around 4 months before I tried the AC. The repairs came to over $6000 and Wilson still has done nothing to make this right. I do not recommend this dealership. They sold me a lemon and sent me packing. More
