Update on previous visit: I took the car back shortly after this visit when I noticed a creaking sound when making turns. I was completely dismissed and spoken to like I was ignorant (likely because I am after this visit when I noticed a creaking sound when making turns. I was completely dismissed and spoken to like I was ignorant (likely because I am female). I just took my car in to another repair shop and was promptly taken back and shown that my axle has a split in it and is caked with dried grease. This would have been impossible to miss during a tire rotation. As much as I would like to go back and raise a fuss about this, they don't deserve the cash from a warranty repair. More
Went in for 30k mile service and saw a labor charge of 196, and a few miscellaneous charges for filters and oil for a total charge of 303. All work was done in under 40 minutes (the same amount of time i 196, and a few miscellaneous charges for filters and oil for a total charge of 303. All work was done in under 40 minutes (the same amount of time it usually takes for an oil change and tire rotation), and when I questioned the charge I received a condescending answer explaining that they have a set charge for everything instead of billing by actual time spent and that there were two people working on my vehicle instead of the one specifically written on my receipt and listed as having done all of the inspections and labor. Overall, I should have paid more attention to the price and just walked out before letting them service my vehicle, but I honestly expected to spend at least two hours waiting for my car to be thoroughly inspected and serviced. I won't be returning, and only recommend people having their car serviced here if they don't mind being billed in the above described fashion and leaving with doubts about your vehicle truly having been inspected properly. I had the worst experience when my wife took her 07 Hyundai Elantra in to get the recalls taken care of. I had set the appointment on 02Aug12 for a drop off on 09Aug12 and I requested a shuttle ride fo Hyundai Elantra in to get the recalls taken care of. I had set the appointment on 02Aug12 for a drop off on 09Aug12 and I requested a shuttle ride for her to return home while the campaigns (recalls) were being dealt with. The morning of the appointment, my wife goes to drop off her vehicle and asked about the shuttle ride. The Service Adviser said she was not on the list for a shuttle ride, even though I have the email confirmation showing shuttle ride was requested. The shuttle arrives at the dealership in a Honda Accord with two passengers already in the shuttle and two waiting for the service (one being my wife). Luckily she is small, so she squeezed into the middle of the backseat. As the day goes by, she awaits the call from Williamsburg Hyundai to come pick up her vehicle. I got off work at 3:30pm and we were hungry, so we went to get some food hoping to receive a call to come pick up her vehicle. We never got one. After eating, we went to the dealership to see if her vehicle was ready to be picked up, only to find out that the vehicle has not even been pulled into the shop. I got a call from the Service Advisor (why he called instead of telling me in the lobby, I couldn't answer) explaining the the technician noticed that the brake lights were not working when he pulled the car into the shop. He starts pricing parts for me. I told the Service Adviser that I would look at the car myself regarding the brake lights. Another 30 minutes go by and the vehicle is still not ready, at this point it is 5:30pm. While waiting in the lobby of the dealership I finally see my wife's car being pulled out of the shop and into a parking space. The Technician pulls the car around to back into the parking space but while rolling forward slams the vehicle in reverse and backs the car into the space. I was sitting in the lobby watching the the car jerk when the Technician slams the car into reverse. I am already aggravated at this point, but then to see how they treated my wife's car pushed me over the edge. I did not say anything at the time because I was already planning to call the Service Manager and inform him of the events that took place that day. My wife gets into her car and I followed behind in mine. Leaving the dealership and on the whole ride home, her brake lights were working perfectly. Also on the Service receipt the promised timed for the vehicle to be done was 3:00pm and we did not leave the dealership till almost 6:00pm. I called the Service Manager the next day and explained what took place. When I told him how I saw the Technician slam the car into reverse while still rolling forward, the Manager already knew which Technician I was talking about. None the less, he said he would look into what happened and would give me a call back. I get the call back from the Service Manager only to be told that "we are sorry." I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!! More
I researched a Hyundai Genesis for my in-laws last year. Having done all of my research and knowing exactly what car I wanted I emailed multiple dealerships within a 150 mile radius of my location trying to Having done all of my research and knowing exactly what car I wanted I emailed multiple dealerships within a 150 mile radius of my location trying to find out who would sell me the car I wanted (specific color and package, hard to find). Mariester reached out to me and gave me the price I wanted with basically no negotiation needed, with only 2 other dealers willing to match the price. She also let me know that she hadnt yet been able to locate my car but if they could get it without a significant transfer fee they would be able to sell it to me at that price. The other 2 dealers were further away and the salespeople and *claimed* they could get or had the car and would sell it to me at the price I wanted. Since I knew the car was not available (thanks to Mariester's honesty) at any dealer within the region I pressed to get a guarantee they would have the car. Both dealers balked once I called them out on the fact that the car was not available within the region and the closest one I could find was 3-4 states away. Finally they gave me the truth that they didnt have the car, hadnt located a car they could get, but were *sure* they would eventually get one. That left a bad taste in my mouth. After a week or two of searching Mariester informed me that the car I wanted just didnt seem available locally and unfortunately she wasnt going to be able to get the car for us. About 1-2 weeks later however I started getting phone messages from some of those other shady dealers saying they had one available. Since they hadnt been completely honest with me initially I emailed Mariester and let her know that one might now be available in the region. She got the car and we drove to Williamsburg and bought the car within a couple of days. Smooth, fast transaction, the staff stayed late for us since we were driving from an hour away and didnt get there until late one evening. NO last minute surprises. I highly recommend this dealership. More
