Undoubtedly the best car maintenance experience I’ve ever had! While traveling far from home and pulling a camper we had a failure of a hydraulic lifter on our Yukon. Fortunately, we were only 3 miles from Williams Chevrolet. It was just after closing time , but we drove our rig to their lot and happened to meet the general manager who was outside talking with an employee. He graciously allowed us to camp there overnight and met us at 0715 the next morning to expedite the process. Williams loaned us a truck for free so we could continue our vacation. The diagnosis was made quickly and they had a new camshaft delivered overnight so the work could start as soon as possible the next day. Replacing all lifters and camshaft is a huge job, but they had it done within 2 days so we could continue our travels. Communication through this stressful time was frequent, friendly, and informative. The car is running smoothly and we are enjoying sightseeing and camping in Michigan. We can’t thank the folks at Williams Chevrolet enough. If we didn’t live in North Carolina we would have all of our routine maintenance done at Williams. More

I guess everyone else had a great experience, according to these reviews. I must be the unlucky one, huh? I had a 9am appointment on Aug. 29, 2024 for an alternator/battery issue & alignment (which I did to these reviews. I must be the unlucky one, huh? I had a 9am appointment on Aug. 29, 2024 for an alternator/battery issue & alignment (which I did not ask to be checked). I was there in the waiting room for 5 HOURS (8:45am - 1:45pm) waiting at the dealership for my service to be finished. I was only contacted by a service rep after I contacted them by text. I heard nothing for 1 1/2 hours , and after texting them, they told me I needed an alternator replacement. I gave the ok to do the work. About 1/2 hour later (10:58am), I got a text that the car should be done “a little bit after lunch” and that I should take the shuttle for lunch. I walked to a fast food place, and upon returning to the dealership, I sat and waited for another 1 1/2 hours. At 1:07pm, I sent a text asking for an update on my vehicle. No communication on why it was taking so long (a “touch base” text would have been nice.) They said they would check on my car. A few minutes later, I was told they were “finishing up the paperwork.” No explanation as to what they found out when “checking on my car.” The time stamp on my paperwork printout after paying my bill was 13:38pm, nearly 5 hours after I arrived. I cannot believe this is a “normal” experience for a customer WAITING at the dealership, especially not receiving updates along the way, unless I initiated the request for an update. I feel I was simply forgotten among the vehicles in the busy service area. No apology, no explanation, no bearing of responsibility. Maybe because I am from out of town with a cottage up here in the Traverse area. I am not concerned about the repairs and costs, rather that the service was not a pleasant experience. Had I known, I could have had someone pick me up and go do errands, instead of sitting thinking they would be done soon. More
Andy did a great job keeping me informed. Maintenance items were completed well. The repair item (primary issue) is still waiting for parts and a return call. Maintenance items were completed well. The repair item (primary issue) is still waiting for parts and a return call. More
