When my husband and I entered the showroom, we were immediately greeted by Sarge. I was looking for a pre-owned vehicle, and Sarge addressed me regarding what I wanted (vs other dealerships that would immediately greeted by Sarge. He is a kind man and great person - not a pushy sales consultant. Sarge is a wonderful asset to Wilkins Hyundai Mazda! Tom Baullen patiently worked with us to make the numbers work in our favor! He didn't just see us as another deal, but as valued customers. I appreciated that he took his time with us and didn't just try to get us in and out in a hurry. He understood that keeping us as lifelong customers was the priority. Something that was completely above and beyond had to do with a sticker on the back window of my trade in. I just figured I would lose it. However, Nick, one of the porters, was able to remove the sticker and put in on my new vehicle. I really appreciated his service! I would highly recommend Wilkins! I found myself in a tough spot with having to buy a new car in a hurry. From the moment I entered the showroom door, I was greeted by a Very personable, knowledgable salesman by the name of Sarge. He was very kind, patient and sympathetic to my situation and did his very best to find me a car in my price comfort zone and without having to give up options that I had become accustom to in my previous car. I have purchased about 5 cars in my life so far and this experience has been the absolute best. Sarge made me feel very comfortable with my decision and worked hard to see that I was happy. I just had my 3 month oil change on the car and the service department is top notch as well. I called ahead to see if I could get in same day and within an hour I was in the service bay and greeted promptly and out within about thirty minutes. No hassles...who could argue with that! It's hard not to be a customer for life when you are treated so well. Great Job Wilkins Hyundai Mazda... Keep up the exceptional work! Louise K. More
This is my first car, So I ultimately had high expectations from customer service to price. needless to say ,THEY MET EVERY EXPECTATION. Every question I had he answered me with genuine honesty. Once I explained my situation to him & exactly what I was looking for, Sarge focused on helping me find what I asked for. I love that he didn't act like a slimy sales man at a dealership (every other experience I've had with dealers have been so scripted, fake & I've been talked down to) Sarge took the time to learn my personality & still very professional he sold my car to me. When it came to financing Rich Sughero handled all the paper work & helped me get a low rate. I was very pleased with how efficient he was. Both Rich & Sarge worked well as a team to ensure my happiness. Rich was so easy to work with, talking about my finances wasn't uncomfortable. He too made my experience great, together Rich & Sarge changed my view on car dealers. I will be spreading the word to anyone I know looking for a new car. Sarge is awesome!! This was my first time ever buying a car and I felt extremely comfortable. He and Bill did a wonderful job in getting me a great deal, and I drove off the lot in my new car! I went into the dealer with many questions and a tight budget. Sarge was extremely helpful. I've been buying cars for years now and my experience at Wilken's hands down has been the best! I went there looking for a car for my mother and I actually bought myself one too. I was in the market and after I saw the quick hassel free experience I had with my moms car i decided to take a look for myself. Wilkens runs a very clean process at the dealership, with test driving cars for two people going through the loan process and and being there on a busy Saturday afternoon we were in and out of there in 3.5 hours. I would recommend Wilkens Mazda in Elmhurst to anyone and make sure you ask for Joe Lipira he was the best car salesman I have ever worked with. More
I came into Wilkins Mazda looking for a good car to use for school and work. Sarge attended us as soon as we got there. This is by far the WORST car dealer I’ve ever gone to. I bought my first car from Larry Roesch in Elmhurst. I bought a Mazda 6 from them, right after noticed a burnt out daytime running light. I brought it to their attention and they said to take it to a Mazda dealer and they would reimburse me for it to be replaced. That is how I found Wilkins. I took my Mazda 6 there for that reason. They were nice and I had a relatively good experience with service. In July I received a letter from Wilkins asking me for my Mazda 6 as they had a very high demand for my car and if I traded in I would receive 0% financing on another Mazda. We looked at and test drove a 2013 Mazda CX-5. We liked it during the test drive. We purchased the car WITHOUT 0% financing b/c Vito, our sales man, “forgot” about it. Okay, out mistake for not pointing it out before papers were signed. My husband called the day after we purchased the car and asked about a set of rain guards for it. Vito told us whatever they were sold for in parts is what we could purchase them for. Are you kidding me?? We just spent $25,000 on a car and you won’t even give us the rain guards at your cost?? Well we were definitely put off by that. We hit about 1,500 miles and the car started jerking when driving a slow speed. My husband called a few Mazda dealers around our house and we were told this is NORMAL!! And in fact when the car was delivered to the dealers they were sent a letter stating that when driving at a slow speed it would feel like you were being rear ended and Mazda was aware of this!! Would have been nice to know this before we bought the car b/c then we probably would have opted for something without the Skyactiv engine as we have a child who is always in the back seat. There were even times when I was driving home from work and I would get car sick. We called Vito approximately two weeks after purchasing the car and said we weren’t happy with it and he told us, “Well too bad, you bought it, it is yours.” We had the car less than two months and traded it in at a DIFFERENT dealer and got a Ford F-350 from an awesome sales man at Haggerty Ford in West Chicago. When I purchased the CX-5 I purchased the gap insurance. When I purchased the F-350 I was told I could cancel the gap insurance and get some money back. I called Wilkins to see who I needed to talk to and I was told someone in finance. So I go there one evening. I had to leave work early to do this and was told I need an appointment which I was NOT told when I called to find out what I needed to do. So I asked if I could make an appointment and was told no. They took my name and number and was told I would be called by someone in finance. Two days went by and nothing. I called the next day and said I’d be in in 1 hour and was told I could not come into cancel b/c it was a Saturday and it was closed. I’m sorry but the dealer was open, you can purchase cars on Saturday so how is the finance office closed?? They tell me to come in during the week I told them that I work all day and can only do it Saturday b/c I am not taking off work again. I was told well we are open 9am-9pm. I’m sorry I work 9am-9pm, thus I’d have to take off work. Okay so I take off work. I call in the morning to make an appointment and was told BY THE SAME PERSON who told me I NEED an appointment that I DON’T NEED an appointment. So I get there and try and cancel this stuff. They tell me I need a paper that I was never told I needed to bring!! I asked to receive a call when my paperwork would be sent to be cancelled. It’s been four days and nothing! I will NEVER return to this dealer. When I need to purchase a new car I will either go to Larry Roesch or Haggerty! I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND WILKINS!!! They will scam you and rip you off!! If I could give them 0 stars I would!!! More
