If you know the exact value of the car you want to buy, what the car likely got at auction, and your trade-in, you will get a pretty good deal. The dealership can afford 5-10% profit, so get right in that range. The salespeople do not talk to financing/warranty, so ask to see a financing person and hammer out details BEFORE you agree to buy the car. Long Review: I'm young, this was the first car I ever bought at a dealership, and I'd shopped at 13 other dealerships. The key thing about Wilde Toyota is that it's huge and has a wide range of salespeople. Pick your salesperson very carefully. The guy I dealt with, Keith, was extraordinarily patient and good-natured. He waited up until 9pm on a friday to hand me my keys. I wasn't pressured, given fast-talk, anything like that. I knew my product (Toyota Corolla), what I could get it for, and I roughly got the price I wanted. One thing to keep in mind is that sales does not talk to financing/warranty unless you specifically ask them too. What I did was talk to a financing person BEFORE I decided to buy the car. They answered all my questions up-front and I had no major surprises. The best thing about this dealership? They really do have an implied warranty that your vehicle will be free of major safety problems--or they'll fix it. I had to take mine in because a very expensive safety part was not working. Ends up being that the dealership paid for the parts and labor! This was not covered by my warranty! I could have gotten hosed--but they took a dip in their profit to cover my car. I highly recommend Wilde Toyota. More
Sales manager refused to look at my research and basically told me he would only give me $100 of the already $4000 jacket up asking price. I brought in quotes from KBB, NADA, and Edmunds and he refused to take any of those values into consideration. Negotiations lasted about 10 minutes - he was disrespectful, closed minded, and impolite. When he told me to go to another dealership with my research, I agreed and walked out the door. I would not recommend this dealership for any reason. More
I would not recommend because I signed for $500 and they pressured and scared me until I agreed to double that amount & change. Said he would give me a discount, and he did, 10% off. However, they wanted pressured and scared me until I agreed to double that amount & change. Said he would give me a discount, and he did, 10% off. However, they wanted us to get over $2300 in repairs, which we did not do. On the phone, only quoted part prices NOT $90/hour LABOR!!! Good grief! They did give us a nice loaner car. I was tempted to buy that after I got the bill, would have been cheaper! I am taking it to my local garage to see if any of the other stuff on the list is "legit." So long, Toyota! More
Oy. What a bunch of crooks. Promises were not kept regarding an amendment to an extended warranty. If you want a Toyota dealer in the area I'd try Safro. They've been fantastic. UPDATE 2010: War regarding an amendment to an extended warranty. If you want a Toyota dealer in the area I'd try Safro. They've been fantastic. UPDATE 2010: Warranty issue was updated. I did end up going to another dealer to fix an issue with the vehicle they didn't take care of back in '06, but I did purchase a new car in 2010 from them due to the work of Chad Wojtysiak. If you are looking to buy a car from them I would talk to their Internet Sales Director. He's a class act. More
Recently I bought a used car from them, but the only positive aspect of the whole experience was the selection- I was able to find the vehicle I was looking for quite easily.Everything else only left a positive aspect of the whole experience was the selection- I was able to find the vehicle I was looking for quite easily.Everything else only left a bad taste in my mouth. The salesaman was visibly annoyed when I requested to test-drive more then one vehicle-it looked like it was obvious to him that I should buy the first car I drove! Also,he was borderline rude when it came to price negotiations. He would not let me have the vehicle inspected by my mechanic even though I offered to leave a large deposit to show my commitment. Why? They should have nothing to hide since yhey claim they perform very thorough inspections on their used cars and nothing with a problem would pass such an inspection. As I was going over the paper work with their business manager, a man was sittig just a few feet behind my back watching and listening-what a weird feeling. He never introduced himself, nor was he introduced to me-BIG BROTHER WATCHING-that's my impression.Overall-I am NOT goig there again. Brought an 06 Corolla in since the wheel well covering inside was falling off. Bought the car June 1 w/ 8300 miles on it - they purchased it on auction from a local rental company (It's Aug. 24th). Was inside was falling off. Bought the car June 1 w/ 8300 miles on it - they purchased it on auction from a local rental company (It's Aug. 24th). Was told it wasn't warranty since "I damaged it". Too bad for the Used Car sales mgr. (Eric) that I wrote down the issues with the vehicle when I brought it home and he was ther ewhen we walked through it. Ironically he "couldn't remember". They were rude, short, and didn't seem interested in working with me to solve the problem. The kicker? I called a week ago to schedule the issue, MADE ME call Parts to order the part, and they still hadn't ordered the part. EVEN IF I HAD WANTED TO PAY TO REPAIR THEY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO! I scheduled with Safro to fix it, warranty or not, and won't be taking my car back there for service, which is a feat considering I live a quarter mile from the dealership. DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I'd head to Safro. Mom just had a nice experience at Safro so they just earned my business. The guys in back all look like they just crawled out of bed, and their attitudes and demeanor justified their looks. More
