I showed up at the end of the day on Saturday at nearly closing time to look at a Prius I was interested in. Jamie was very welcoming, friendly and patient. Even though it took several hours, he never made me feel like I was interfering with his Saturday evening plans. As a first time owner of a Prius, he took the time to make sure I understood and felt comfortable with all the features of the Prius. Not only am I excited about the car, I am also making sure my friends know of the great experience I had. I have several of his cards ready to hand out. He was thorough in describing all of the benefits and additional features of the car and service. My daughter was with me, and we both agreed that we were happy to have gotten a salesman that was down-to-earth and one we could have fun with as well. As soon as we parked, Jamie greeted us and a asked if he can assist to make the car search easier for us. He took us to his desk and help us search the inventories online so we wouldn't be walking all over the lot. We narrowed the search to about four different types of vehicles and than the search began! Jamie was a great guide with directing us to the vehicles location! That made the search quicker and much more personal. Any questions that I had regarding the vehicles, Jamie was able to answer. Remember I did say in the beginning that we were there to only test drive some vehicles...well we ended up buying one of the vehicle that we test drove with Jamie's assistance. We couldn't pass up the great deal! This was one of the best car buying experience that I have had in a very long time! Great service! No pushy sales rep! Very personal and friendly! We made an appt to test drive a Honda Pilot that we found on the internet. Kevin Nelson was the salesman assigned to us by the internet dept. From the time we arrived on the lot all we heard from Kevin was on the internet. Kevin Nelson was the salesman assigned to us by the internet dept. From the time we arrived on the lot all we heard from Kevin was, "I'm with someone else." We were pointed to the vehicle and told to take it for a drive. We'd researched and test drove SUVs in Madison for the last 2 weeks so, we knew what we were looking for and didn't need much help. However, Kevin couldn't be bothered to answer the few questions we did have. He rushed us to start signing paperwork the second we returned from the test drive. He pressured us, making sure we were aware that another family had been interested in the vehicle. He never offered to find answers to our questions about the vehicle, just shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know. We were told that if we bought the SUV now they would buff out a scratch and detail the car really well. We started the paperwork, but said we would not finish until we saw the scratch repair. Kevin returned with the SUV without any improvement on the scratch. The detailed car still had dirt and salt all over the exterior. We decided to wait to finish the purchase until Monday, so that the "normal porters" could REALLY detail the car and work on the scratch. We drove the hour back to the dealer Mon night. The scratch did look much better and the detail was excellent. We decided to give the SUV a more thorough inspection, using a checklist since we were so rushed the first day. Kevin told us to hurry up, and it's too cold I'm going inside. We waited for our turn to do the paperwork and tried to ask a few more questions about the car, Kevin still didn't have the answers. Like what kind of inspection did the vehicle have. Kevin said, "Well it was on the window sticker. "Can I see the window sticker?" "You'll get a copy with the paperwork." Then he said he had to go help another customer and went and stood at the window doing nothing. He lied about whose dept it was to negotiate floor mats. (Not finance, sales dept.) We quickly and pleasantly completed the paperwork and were escorted back out to the lobby to wait for Kevin. He was suppose to come shake our hand and screw the new plates on our new SUV. We politely waited and waited. Our finance guy paged Kevin to the building twice when he noticed us still sitting there. The receptionist paged Kevin two additional times. We finally asked if we could just borrow a screwdriver to put the plates on ourselves. We were given the screwdriver by another sales person. While we were putting the plates on a manager came out and asked who our salesperson was. Kevin finally came down as the manager finished putting the plates on. He said, "I'm sorry. I was with another customer." Thanks for nothing Kevin. During our entire buying experience you were always with another customer. This SUV was expensive and we didn't appreciate being treated so poorly, when spending our hard earned money. Moral of the story don't buy your vehicle from Kevin Nelson. More
