After searching for weeks trying to find a suitable Toyota Rav 4, Wilde Honda popped up on a Carfax search with a beautiful 2012. I was skeptical because 2 other Toyotas had been sold out from under me from other dealerships and I didn't want to waste my time anymore. I called right away and was greeted by a wonderful salesman, Chandler. There were a couple of bumps along the way with my bank, but Chandler stuck in there with me and after an anxious waiting period, I arrived at the dealership. It was a three hour drive to get to Waukesha, but it was worth it! I brought my father with me to check out the Rav 4, we arrived a little early to walk around and take some pictures of it. It was in amazing condition and just like Chandler had described it. After a couple of minutes, I started looking around for Chandler because the car was gorgeous! Like in a movie, out of the wild blue yonder, in zoomed Chandler on a Segway!!! (I was too impressed and awestruck to snap a picture 😅) It was the best entrance I've ever seen and set a positive fun tone for the rest of my visit to Wilde Honda. I brought my own plates, which I thought was going to be inconvenient, but Chandler was equipped with his own drill to help install them. After an enjoyable test drive, it was paperwork time... Normally not my favorite activity, but Ethan made the financial part of the transaction easy and stress free. I only wish I had the extra money to take advantage of their protection plans, which seemed like an excellent value. Ethan didn't pressure me to take on any additional packages, but provided me with all the information to make an educated decision which I really appreciated. I would recommend this dealership to anyone who values their time and sanity, as well as to anyone who appreciates a fun welcoming environment. Thank you, Chandler! Thank you, Ethan! This was the worst car buying experience we have ever had. This dealership took incompetence to a whole new level. No communication between salespeople and new car sales manager. I was looking for a 2023 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E. I went to the Honda website, did the build I wanted and Honda showed Wilde as having one in stock. I used the contact form and received a reply from Dylan within and hour and he let me know the truck was in-transit and not on the lot yet. Not a problem, I can wait a few days. I went in the next day to work out the specifics. I was handed off by Dylan to salesman Chris. Chris checked my trade and took some initial information. I then told him I did not want any packages, ceramic coating, or interior protection. I wanted to add door edge protectors and the upgraded black wheels only. He stepped away for a few minutes and came back telling me the truck had the "performance package" installed at the factory and I could take that or wait till November for a custom order. The statement above is where things collapsed. Honda does not install option packages at the factory (I confirmed this with a contact at Honda North America). When I told Chris this, he claimed they just started doing it this year. Yeah, nothing builds trust in a business transaction like having someone lie to your face. This is going to be my third new Honda, and while I love the vehicles and like the company, their dealer network is terrible. I can't recommend any of the Honda dealerships I've dealt with as they have all turned out to be completely scummy. Fortunately in this case they showed their true colors early in the process. I tried to schedule scheduled service that I had prepaid via Wilde Honda’s website- I requested a call back , waited 2 weeks, then tried again- still no call. Finally I was able to schedule a time to have m via Wilde Honda’s website- I requested a call back , waited 2 weeks, then tried again- still no call. Finally I was able to schedule a time to have my car serviced by scheduling it myself, also needing them to repair the interior window molding that was disintegrating despite the vehicle being 6 months old - disintegrating from remarkably poor workmanship. I took my car to the service department, they didn’t repair the defective manufacturing (and I can’t confirm they did any of the scheduled maintenance I paid for) I have called 15 times subsequently and can’t get them to fix it. I contacted Honda USA, they opened 3 cases but didn’t do any follow up or any work at all. In summary, the dealership is lax and negligent, maybe because they are dealing with subpar, poorly manufactured, overpriced Honda vehicles and don’t care to work on them. Stay Away More
Last Monday afternoon I called the Service Department at Wilde Honda and ended getting my call routed to voicemail. I left a message and received a callback for the Service Manager, "Honda John" within the Wilde Honda and ended getting my call routed to voicemail. I left a message and received a callback for the Service Manager, "Honda John" within the hour. I was impressed! I explained to John that my 2013 CRV (153000 miles) was beginning to make a combined "howling/thumping" sound while driving. John suggested that there are several possibilities that could be the cause but rather than doing an over the phone diagnosis, he offered to have me meet him first thing Tuesday morning and we'd take it on the road together. I accepted his offer and met him first thing in the morning. After the test, he told me the good news is I don't need new wheel bearings. He thought that I might be able to cut some of the noise with a change of my differential oil. ( I have had that done regularly but this would be a change that would be done a little early. He also said that he thought my tires (about 50% worn) were starting to harden and beginning to "cup". He said that none of these issues posed a safety problem while driving. I had the differential oil changed and it did help improve the "howl" some. I decided to keep an eye on the tires for a while. My main reason for writing this review is to note that throughout my experience with John , he was totally focused on helping me solve my problem. He honestly made me feel like I was his only customer for that day (and we all know that wasn't the case!). Before Tuesday, I had never met John. I found him to be a very knowledgeable and professional service manage. At no time did he try to "up sell me" into getting service that I didn't need. He was just trying to help me solve my problem.
