Started as poor communication Evolved into bad sales tactics I live 3.5 hours from this dealership and as part as my call rotation I have to stay in my local area. In my initial communication to them I mentione I live 3.5 hours from this dealership and as part as my call rotation I have to stay in my local area. In my initial communication to them I mentioned explicitly that if they could provide additional pictures that I would have my in-laws, who live in the area, test drive the vehicle in question and then we could finish the deal online (as I have done in the past with another Wilde dealership). First they never provided the pictures, but the in-laws offered to look it over and test drive it anyway and this is where the fun begins. I received an email from an internet associate stating that "most" of the paperwork could be completed online. My elderly in-laws show up for a test drive. After talking to my in-laws it becomes apparent that they've been given different information then I have. First they tried to up-sell them on a different vehicle over $5000 more than the vehicle that they showed up to test drive for us. Then they tried to pressure my in-laws to buy the vehicle on our behalf since apparently 24 hours after I sent my email they could no longer work an online deal. I thought surely this must be a mistake, somebody at the dealership must be able to use a computer or fax machine, but to my amazement they were unable to do such a thing. I thought fine then the in-laws could put down some money to hold the vehicle which is against Wilde Honda's policy which is fair enough, but I assume that policy was in place when I initiated the conversation the day before. A little bit of forethought could have stopped this awkward situation from ever occurring. I eventually became uncomfortable enough with the situation that I asked my in-laws to leave, which they did and then I felt the need to apologize multiple times for having them function as intermediaries for us with this business. On the positive side my in-laws liked the salesman that they worked with, but I have no idea why. More

We had 3 different new vehicles on our test drive list before a purchase. The salesman approached us and we told him our plans and asked about any Pilots that they would have. First he told us they were real busy and we could call and set up an appointment. Then he said that if we were not in the market to purchase a car today, then he did not have time for us. " I have two kids to feed and if you do not intend to buy a car today, then I can't help you. Look on line for a car." Outrageous!! I am happy to report that Boucher dealership(around the corner) sold us a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe 3 days later. Boucher has excellent customer service. More

Mye My wife and I have been purchasing Honda's from R.G. and Jeannie Stathas for over 20 years. Even though we live out of the Sarasota market, in Ft. Myers we keep coming back to Wilde because of the great treatment we have received from R.G. and Jeannie over the years. In fact everyone that we have dealt with at Wilde have been courteous, knowledgeable, and earnest. The addition of Dave Misiewicz, who is working with Jeannie and R.G., has been a great one. Dave has been very detail oriented and has been very responsive to followup questions I have had on our new car features. While we live too far from Wilde to make it practicable to visit for regular maintenance, we have always been pleased with the service department when we have had our Honda's at Wilde for service. We rate Wilde Honda credibility very low, due to sales tactics high in MISREPRESENTATION. We were ready to purchase a new vehicle, which should have been a simple, no finance transaction. We had an "out-t tactics high in MISREPRESENTATION. We were ready to purchase a new vehicle, which should have been a simple, no finance transaction. We had an "out-the-door" internet quote that was confirmed twice in email and once over the phone. The agreed upon quote specifically noted that we did NOT want financing. When we arrived at the dealership to finalize the deal, we were told the price would be $500 higher due to parameters that were NEVER DISCLOSED to us in previous communications. Apparently, our confirmed, agreed upon quote was only available for customers taking out a loan with Wilde to finance the cost. We surmise that the requirement for financing would allow Wilde to collect a minimum of 1-month of interest on the loan. Well-played Wilde! But, are the few extra dollars of interest (and perhaps some corporate incentives) worth selling out your credibility? When we expressed our displeasure to the new car sales manager and asked if he was going to honor the quote we received from the internet sales manager, he stated he could not do that. His reply was that the agreed upon internet quote was not a "formal quote" and would not be honored by Wilde. After this experience of feeling completely MISLED, we wrote to the Wilde Automotive Group general manager. The only response we received was a call from the new car sales manager who admitted that "some things broke down" (internally at Wilde). Further, we were given extremely short notice (same day time limit) to make the deal at our agreed upon terms. By the time we connected with the sales manager, we had a 4-hour window before closing to drive to Wilde and complete the transaction, which was too short of notice for us. Likely, the 1-day time requirement coincided with Wilde's expiring end-of-month sales quota, as we have not heard back from Wilde since. More
The sales associates and service people are so rude. We had an appointment to have all new tires on our SUV, and we arrived and they had no recollection of which tires we had ordered or wanted. This place is so unorganized. I had a sales associate slam a door on me, instead of holding it open. Not the type of people I want to be dealing with or trusting with my vehicle. They just have this attitude, and they are definite scammers. They say they don't haggle and the discounts are in your trade-in, but this is just their way of screwing you over more. DONT trust these people. More
I just got a 2011 Ford Fusion from AJ at Wilde Honda. The car runs great, it's the perfect size for me and gets good gas mileage. In the past I have not been particularly fond of going through the hassel of negotiating the purchase of a vehicle, but I can honestly say that my first purchase at Wilde Honda of Sarasota was such a hass through the hassel of negotiating the purchase of a vehicle, but I can honestly say that my first purchase at Wilde Honda of Sarasota was such a hassle free experience that I just recently made my second purchase at this dealership. Both Steve and Kim are true professionals and work hard to satisfy their customer's needs. I would and do recommend this dealership to friends and families. More
My much younger brother went to Wilde Honda in search of his first car. During the negotiation process, he calls me and says that the salesperson indicated that he couldn't move on the price but that he wou his first car. During the negotiation process, he calls me and says that the salesperson indicated that he couldn't move on the price but that he would not have to pay tax if he registered in Illinois. And as such, he 'would save $1,000.' As a tax attorney, I was well aware that while he might not be charged tax by the dealership that he would have to pay Illinois tax (which is roughly twice that of Wisconsin) at the time he registered in Illinois. I inform my brother and tell him to confront the salesperson. My brother's description of the salesperson's reaction makes it pretty clear that he was well aware of his misrepresentation. I am outraged that this dealership would misrepresent the facts to a young, inexperienced kid out to get his first used car. So I call the dealership. And I get transferred to the wrong sales person. While he did not deal with my brother, his response suggested to me that the folks at Wilde have a way of describing this tax savings. Then I get directed to the used car manager. While he did not negotiate with my brother, he did indicate that he met with him during the course of his time at the dealership. And he indicates that it must have been a misunderstanding. And that the salesperson was 'foreign' and that English was not his first language which might have contributed to the miscommunication. I ask my brother to describe his salesperson. He describes the man as an older white man with a southern accent. Completely disgusted with the sales tactics and blatant lies by this dealership. This is likely a relatively unique situation because most people will have no option but to register in Wisconsin (my brother is a recent college graduate who is living with me in Wisconsin but also still living with my parents in Illinois). Obviously the dealership will indicate that it is a complete misunderstanding and that they are tax compliant, but wanted to put this out there so that other people may avoid similar misunderstandings. Tom came highly recommended from a family friend and after spending a full day car shopping with him we wouldn't send someone to anyone else to consider buying a vehicle. He went above and beyond to mak after spending a full day car shopping with him we wouldn't send someone to anyone else to consider buying a vehicle. He went above and beyond to make sure we were fully informed about all aspects all the purchasing process and left no stone unturned. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the decision-making process and we were made to feel like family. He was knowledgeable and very understanding to our needs. He never gave up on us even when the search was taking much longer than expected and provided many tasty cookies to hold us over. Without his presence we're not sure we would've drove away with a new vehicle and smiling faces. More
