Standard & Recall Service Since my move back to the Madison area, I have utilized a couple of Honda dealers, but working with Cheryl Romo made the decision to continue to come Since my move back to the Madison area, I have utilized a couple of Honda dealers, but working with Cheryl Romo made the decision to continue to come back to Wilde easy. Cheryl was a great first impression for Wilde - even though I could tell she was busy, she still greeted me with a smile and a professional/friendly attitude. Cheryl was very easy to work with - she advised the service to be done, and followed up the next day with an update/quote and completion time. The car looked great upon pick-up. I really appreciated this outstanding customer service - thank you, Cheryl! More

Great Sales Experience, Mediocre Financing Experience I previously gave a five-star review immediately following my purchase because I absolutely enjoyed working with Conor and appreciated all of his insi I previously gave a five-star review immediately following my purchase because I absolutely enjoyed working with Conor and appreciated all of his insight. I came in with a very specific vehicle in mind and wound up going with that vehicle. I wasn't sure about the purchase, so I wound up coming back three days later. I worked with Conor again and a manager named Shawn. Both were very understanding and nice about the whole situation. I appreciated that they weren't judging me for being indecisive. After looking at a few vehicles on the lot, I decided to stick with my current vehicle and am very glad that I did because I just love it. A week ago I got a call from Chris from the finance department who I'd worked with to draft the contract. He said that they got my payments lowered a bit and needed me to come in to resign paperwork. While going over the paperwork with Brent (Chris was with another customer), I asked to take off the Extended Warranty. Brent told me that I needed to wait until I got my account number from my Financer Capital One, but he was very nice about it. I decided to be patient and wait. Until a few days ago when I got a call from Capital One, my financer, asking me if I was alright with my GAP not being the type of coverage that covers everything. This came as a surprise because I was not told this by Chris when I went over everything. I decided to cancel both the GAP and the Extended Warranty and relayed to Capital One what the dealership told me. I was told that my loan is not finalized and the dealership can simply re-contract the sale with me to remove it so my payment would go down. Not removing it before the loan is finalized means that I will pay the same amount, so it is in my best interest to remove it now. I spoke with Steve and he reiterated what Brent told me, so I called Capital One again to see if we can push the loan through. They refuse to finalize it because they know I want to remove these things and told me to ask the dealership to remove these two add ons and re-contract. When I called back again I think I spoke with Brent again, who said the same thing he said before until I told him what Capital One said. He is still following up on this with Capital One. Both Steve and Brent said that they don't know "who at Capital One told (me) this" but it was wrong. I checked the number and it was definitely the Capital One auto finance department who I spoke with. I feel like the Finance department is making this a lot more complicated and aggravating than it needs to be. This is the first car dealership that I've ever gone through who said I had to wait for my loan to be finalized to remove something. I went through Russ Darrow a few years ago and they were able to do it five days after I got the car. Moral of the story: never get the add ons because it's a pain to take them off. Hard to believe while I was going over everything that they claimed my payment would only go down a few dollars by removing $2000 worth of extra financing. I wish I would have been able to consider the financing side longer rather than getting the amounts for the first time when I say down with Chris. More
Mostly fair, but they sure make you work for it Buying a car is not fun, and this dealership still uses the same old tactics that have been used for the last who-knows-how-many years. First you Buying a car is not fun, and this dealership still uses the same old tactics that have been used for the last who-knows-how-many years. First you get an overview of the car from the salesman. Then he accompanies you on a test drive. So far so good. I expect this when I'm shopping for a new car. Then the "fun" begins and they start selling. If you have a trade, you get double the fun. The salesman made the first offer (after consulting with the manager), with a price way too close to MSRP on the new car and a lowball offer on my very clean trade. I was visibly upset and expressed my dissatisfaction, so the ball was in my court to make an offer. So I did the same, and made a lowball offer on the new car and a fair offer on my trade. Off to the manager's office he went again. This time, the manager came back to close the deal. I didn't like the final offer, but we were only about $500 apart so I took it. Done deal, right? Not quite. They didn't have the color I wanted in stock, but their "sister store" in Milwaukee had one. Of course, they had just showed it and it might be sold, and then they'd need to locate one at another dealership. They promised, though, that the dealership would be less than 200 miles away because they "never sell a new car with more than 200 miles on it." As you can probably guess, the sister store sold the car I wanted, and they had to find one somewhere else. They found it and got it to Madison fairly quickly, but never informed me until after I signed all the paperwork that it had nearly 450 miles on it from the 6+ hour drive to get it to Madison! Surprise! Man do I hate surprises, but that's what I get for assuming they were honest and not asking about it before I signed the deal. Just when I thought I was finished with the torture of negotiating, in walks the finance guy with all the paperwork. Easy, right? Just sign your name a couple dozen times and drive away in your new car. Nope. It's never easy. Time to sell again. This time, the pitch was for an extended warranty and every other protection package under the sun, which would add almost $200/month to my payment if I took all of it! Needless to say, I wasn't interested, but my wife bit and decided we wanted two of the 7-8 products they were offering. We didn't like the price, though, so negotiations started again. Whee! Fun! It didn't take long for them to knock 25% off the price of the two options we chose, and once again we had a deal. We signed the order form, signed over the title on our trade, and signed our names 20+ more times and it was time to take delivery. The salesman allowed us to inspect the vehicle and then did a very thorough walk-through of all the options, helping set up some features of the car for us. All-in-all, we were probably at the dealership for 3+ hours, which is a little crazy, but I understand it because it was the day after Christmas and they were very busy, and obviously understaffed in the finance office and on the sales floor, since our salesman was juggling at least 3 different customers simultaneously while we were there. We traded keys and drove away in our brand new 2016 Honda Pilot Elite. Less than 24 hours later, I got an email telling me I still needed to get them the title for my trade, and that it would cost me about $25 to get it from the DMV. Um, no. I signed it last night and handed it to the finance guy. How did they lose it less than 24 hours later? Not a terrible experience, but not perfect either. The salesman was very knowledgeable and professional, but I sure wish I could just deal with one person who doesn't have to step into the manager's office every time one side or the other makes an offer. I also wish the negotiation process could step into the modern world or just be eliminated altogether. The fact that I had to negotiate everything was exhausting, and starting with an adversarial relationship doesn't serve either of us well. I hoped I'd walk away with a strong urge to give a 5 star review. Unfortunately, I can't give more than 3 because the overall experience left me pretty disappointed, even though the salesman, manager and finance guy were all very knowledgeable and professional. It all comes down to customer experience, and this dealership has some work to do in that area. I'll have all my service done at this dealership, and will be sure to rate them again once I've been there a few times. More

He also was willing to answer my endless questions about the different cars surrounding the model. I ended up getting a Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid because I knew that had all the features I wanted as well as knowing that would be what was best for my city driving. I knew it was the right vehicle because John made sure to let me sit in a few different cars to know that was exactly what was right for me as well as giving me the knowledge I required to make a purchase. Brent also did the paperwork portion of the sale and made sure it was quick and painless! More
