Great place to buy a car I moved to Madison in the middle of January and the very next day the front wheel of my car broke off. Yikes. I ended up taking a taxi to a dealership I moved to Madison in the middle of January and the very next day the front wheel of my car broke off. Yikes. I ended up taking a taxi to a dealership (always a bad sign in regards to negotiation) down the road and had a pretty bad experience with a rather pushy and inexperienced dealer. When I left that dealership I went to Wild East Towne and met with Leticia. She was the opposite of the other dealership and great in every way: she was knowledgeable about every car on the lot and spent more than an hour helping me determine what car would best suit my needs. She also went out and scraped the ice off the windows and warmed up 5 or 6 different cars for me to test drive. She was never pushy and gave me plenty of space to surf the net, price compare, call friends and ask further questions. I was on the fence between several cars and she patiently went through all of my finance options for each car and did not try to push me one way or the other. I ended up settling on a used Suburu that had just come on the lot and would need a repair before it could be sold, and Leticia asked manager Brent if I could borrow the lot van for a few days until the new car was ready and he very kindly agreed. The long and short of it is that she went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and that I would be happy with my purchase. Once I had chosen a car and decided to buy it, Leticia had me fill out my paperwork with a manager on duty who would then try to sell me on their insurance policies. Because I was buying a used car with only a 30-day limited warranty, Wild East Towne management tried to sell me several different "added" insurance policies--on the paint, the drive train, and everything else. I understand that they have to offer them--and that they likely make a lot of their money on the back end of these insurance policies--but this was by far the least enjoyable part of the process. I declined all of the added insurance options, much to the dismay of the manager at that time, and had to sign dozens of "refusal of insurance" forms that feel designed to intimidate the buyer to buy insurance they might not need (as I will already keep full coverage on the car). I took the car back on the last day of my 30 day limited warranty to double-check it one last time for what I thought was an odd noise, and they checked it over one last time for free--all the while being very quick and friendly. One couldn't ask for more from their service department which is also quite comfortable and well-stoked with delicious beverages. I will certainly take my car back to their shop should I need any other services on it in the future. Many thanks again, Leticia! Forced to trade for different car I hate because i couldn't afford repair and now having issues with this one 2 weeks after purchase!
