Jordan stayed until after 9 pm to put my wife and I in a beautiful Ram truck. JT and his boss patiently walked us through the confusing financial paper work. We purchased our last 2 new cars from Wilde dealerships and had pleasant buying experiences. My wife Lynn works for a Minnesota company that provides company cars to its numerous employees in the metro-Mi and had pleasant buying experiences. My wife Lynn works for a Minnesota company that provides company cars to its numerous employees in the metro-Milwaukee area and many of those vehicles have come from Wilde dealerships – my wife alone has received 4 new cars from Wilde Honda over the past 8 years. Ask Chris Bergner how many cars Stubbe & Associates have purchased from him over the years. And, our business, Mosquito Joe of Waukesha County currently has 5 service vehicles, we add 1-2 per year. Our first 4 vans were Ford Transit Connects, but our most recent vehicle is a Ram Promaster and we’ve made the decision to phase out the Fords and replace them with the Ram’s. Naturally, Wilde would have been the logical choice for our new Promaster purchases. Based on our previous experiences with Wilde dealerships we were not expecting the treatment we received at Wilde Jeep when we were looking to buy a used Wrangler. We were actually disgusted by the way we were treated. The most important decision we make every day is how to spend our time. Lynn is a nurse case manager and is compensated on billable hours. I work in our Mosquito Joe business where outstanding customer service is our top priority. Lynn spent several hours at the dealer test driving a used Jeep which we wanted to purchase and it turned out that another salesperson had a buyer for it prior to Lynn being shown the vehicle. However, our salesperson Len, said that they had another one that just came in that was going through safety inspection, that would be available when that process was completed. Len was informed that we wanted that Jeep and we were told that as soon as it came out of safety inspection we could put a deposit on the vehicle to hold it. Len told us that his manager was made aware that we wanted the vehicle. We would also be trading in a used pick-up truck and Len provided us with a trade-in estimate for that vehicle subject to physical inspection. We were told to call the dealer daily to check if the Jeep had come out of safety inspection. When Lynn called and learned that the safety inspection was completed she attempted to put the deposit on the vehicle to hold it, as Len had said we could do. Len was off that day and Lynn was directed to another salesman, Scott, who informed her that she could not place the deposit on the vehicle, she would need to come in to the dealership. Lynn went in & test drove the Jeep, again she was told that she could not put the deposit on it, even though we had been told that by Len. I joined Lynn at the dealership, we called and received pre-approved for financing from our credit union, I was in one of our company vans, so I went and retrieved the pick-up that we would be trading in. I had received a cash offer from CarMax for the truck we were trading in which was the same as the initial offer we were given by Wilde. This cash offer price was shared with Scott, the new salesperson we were working with. We were ready to buy the Jeep and made the offer, our pick up trade was reviewed and the trade-in value came in $500 less than initially offered, $10,500 vs $11,000. We said we weren't going to take $10,500 for the trade when we could go a few miles away to CarMax and get $11,000. Scott took the $11k trade in value back to his manager and it was rejected so we walked away from the sale. Horrible business practice to tell us we could place a deposit on the vehicle to hold it, then told that we could not do that. We believe that Scott was poaching the sale from Len because Len was off that day which is why he wouldn't let us place the deposit. So at this point Lynn had spent 5 hours at the dealer and I had spent 3 hours, Lynn missed out on over $300 of billable hours and I had to reschedule 3 customers that I wasn't able to service that day. We understood that the trade-in estimate was subject to physical review, and if $10,500 was their offer, fine. Then, 30 minutes after leaving the dealer, Lynn receives a call saying that they would now give us $11,200 for the trade-in. They had 2 chances to earn our business with $11k for the trade while we were sitting there, we were ready to buy and they pushed us out the door, then tried to lure us back. Total BS. This is the type of game-playing that has earned car salesmen and auto dealers the low public opinion that they have. We received the $11,000 for our trade-in, found another used Jeep, called and provided a deposit over the phone to hold the vehicle, and then visited the dealer days later and closed the transaction within an hour. Quite the opposite of our experience with Wilde. You can be sure we won't be purchasing our company Ram Promaster vans from Wilde and we will be sure to let the owner of Lynn's company know how we were treated at Wilde, they highly value Lynn's opinion. We would recommend staying away from this dealer. More
