My recent experience at Whitten Mazda was the best that I have ever had when purchasing a new car. From the start, Nathan Mathaney, Sales Consultant, was attentive without being over-bearing or pressuring me have ever had when purchasing a new car. His ability to understand exactly what I wanted in a new car is due to the fact that he genuinely listened to me when we talked. His easy going, friendly, polite personality is a wonderful asset to his expertise in the business, unsurpassed professionalism, no pressure, unhurried sales approach, and his genuine desire to help me find exactly the car that I want. Nathan is an exceptional salesman and a consummate professional, and I hope to have the opportunity to buy from him again. Likewise, Frank Howerth, Finance Manager, was as friendly as he was professional as he explained the financing options, contracts, and other options available to me - in a clear, easily understood manner. He was extremely helpful with my questions and concerns, and helped me to make the right decisions for my situation. And Sales Manager, Brian White, was equally friendly, as accommodating as possible, and an absolute professional in helping me determine the price for my new vehicle. I have had recent service, in that options that I ordered were put on my car, and every promise made by Nathan and the service manager was delivered exactly as I expected. This has been an enjoyable experience in every way, and I expect to be contacting Nathan Mathaney when I am ready to trade this car for another. He didn't beat around the bush-I told him exactly my price range and what monthly payments I am looking for and he found me the perfect car. I am a student at VCU so on a tight budget, and I found a car with great gas mileage and in my payment range. I just bought a new Mazda CX-5 from this dealer. Talk about a refreshing experience. I'd been comparison shopping through the internet, contacting all the dealers that MazdaUSA website listed as having t about a refreshing experience. I'd been comparison shopping through the internet, contacting all the dealers that MazdaUSA website listed as having the car I wanted in stock. This was one of the last ones I spoke to. I told them the best quote I had received, they beat it by a good margin and promised no additional fees. I drove an hour to pick up the car, and from the moment I stepped on the lot had an enjoyable experience. Every single person greeted me with a smile, Ben wasn't the least bit pushy about getting me to pay extra for any options or dealer add-ons that I didn't want. The other two ladies I worked with discussing extended warranty and other protection did a good job trying to sell me on a service that some people might want, but graciously accepted when I declined. Everyone was so friendly in fact, that my wife got a little annoyed we were spending too much time just chatting when she was ready to drive away in the new car haha. But that's hardly a negative. In sum, I was super pleased with Ben's ability to negotiate quickly over the internet, offer me a price much better than anywhere else, and close the deal quickly with no additional fees, as promised. I highly recommend Whitten Bros. Mazda. More
Whitten Advantage is garbage -- Lifetime warranty on engine... not so much -- timing chain went bad on 2009 CX-7. They will not repair it because I don't have the receipts from where I changed my oil fr engine... not so much -- timing chain went bad on 2009 CX-7. They will not repair it because I don't have the receipts from where I changed my oil from the time they stopped doing it free (36k miles) to now (73k miles). I change my own oil! Who keeps receipts of cases of oil? They will find any way to get out of repairing something. There's always a loophole. I also had an extended warranty through easycare which covers up to 75k miles -- they denied the claim first. The service manager took pictures and sent to them to prove that maintenance was not the issue. Now I find out that the "Whitten Advantage" should cover it. So the people who were defending me and taking pics to prove I was in the right are now backtracking when they have to cover it under their "warranty" saying the same thing. That I didn't have the proper documentation of oil changes. What a bunch of crap. I will never buy from them again. More
