A case of the missing cat I bought a VW Gold R sight unseen via the internet. Lovely used car, as described, impeccable. Unbeknown to WM or myself the prior owner had decided t I bought a VW Gold R sight unseen via the internet. Lovely used car, as described, impeccable. Unbeknown to WM or myself the prior owner had decided that a catalytic converter was surplus to requirement. In some states that works, in California where passing wind requires a catalytic converter it does not. To their full credit WM paid for the car to go to VW and have a cat fitted. So now we are street legal in sunny CA and owners of a happy cat. More
