Two days before that I was driving down the road and it basically just shut down to an idle that was very rough and I got a couple of messages advising to get it to a dealer. After waiting about an hour for a tow-truck, I decided to turn in off and see if it would start again. it started up and all messages were gone. When I took it in two days later for my service appointment, I told Shawn about the problem, and he advised me that I had only scheduled an oil change and he did not have the capability to check that without an appointment and the next one was the end of the next week. He said he had people living in motels waiting for repairs and left me with the impression that I should be happy mine would still go. The interesting part is that on two previous oil appointments I had mentioned that the transmission would slip at times. I was told each time that nothing "showed up", which led me to believe that it had been hooked up to read any codes that might have been "telling". I now believe that that explanation was just to get me out the door and that nothing was actually checked..I went back to the records of those visits and see that nothing was noted as to document future potential problems. The same situation exists this time as nothing was noted on the service form. I purchased this vehicle at this dealership and have a good relationship with the salesman Scott. I have an appointment with another dealer to assess the problem. Since it is now past the 36,000 mile warranty, I may be in the same situation as some of the other commentators, since nothing was documented previously that may have led to this problem. I did not get a request for an evaluation of the service by either e-mail or snail mail, so that indicates to me that Shawn knew it would not be good. Hopefully this is something simple that is a warranty item so there will be no need for any further action with this service department. Long time Ford owner More

Our mechanic tried a few things and it happened again. Since it was a brand new motor, and it was warrantied, he send it to White's Canyon in Spearfish for the warranty work. Our pickup was up there a week before its scheduled appointment and our mechanic sent all of the paper work right away. Almost two weeks later, we hadn't heard anything from them. Since we live far away from Spearfish and happened to be in Rapid that day, we called the service department to see if our pickup was done. I was told they'd look into it and call me right back. Our mechanic was also calling them and getting the run around. We had to go home. Six hours later, I still had not been called back, so I called the general manager, Kevin Rhodes. He said he was out of town and called the service guy, Shawn. Shawn called me back and frankly he was rather rude. He claimed they couldn't find the pickup because it had come in under another shop's name, not ours. I told Shawn I had told his employee exactly where the pickup came from and who owned it. He also claimed they were too busy to look at our pickup during the scheduled appointment, and they couldn't find the papers. All of this was a lie as our mechanic had everything there a week before the scheduled appointment. So they hadn't even pulled our pickup in the shop! He said he drove it and nothing was wrong with it. The check engine light never came on. I told him to call our mechanic and talk to him about that. Then he basically implied if I had any more questions to call his direct line. He must of gotten chewed out by the general manager. It all boils down to the service department won't do warranty work, or doesn't want to. Our mechanic told him when the check engine light goes off there are codes to pull. He told Shawn to pull the codes and figure out what was wrong. So our mechanic has to tell them how to do their jobs? I don't think they ever did pull the codes. They just don't want to do warranty work or bother with it. It's now three days later, and we haven't heard from them. Our mechanic called all frantic today that they were going to start guessing at what was wrong and charging us. The service department told our mechanic they've been in contact with us all week. Which is a huge lie! My husband called the service department this morning and asked for Shawn. He was told Shawn was out of the office, and was then told Shawn was busy. So we were lied to again. My husband said if Shawn did not return his call, he would be calling the GM. Shawn did call him back with all kinds of excuses. My husband told him not to touch our pickup again. Our mechanic would be picking it up early in the morning, and we will never be doing business with them again. Don't go to this dealership. They are liars and I don't think are very good mechanics since they can't even figure out to pull codes. The GM was very nice to me on the phone and did get things going, but that's where it ended. Shawn-the service manager-was rude and lied. More
Company took advantage of us!! We have been back and forth with this company through the better business bureau. We purchased a 2006 F250 diesel 6.0 after our Dodge Ram broke down We have been back and forth with this company through the better business bureau. We purchased a 2006 F250 diesel 6.0 after our Dodge Ram broke down, which we had for many years. We assumed that after we told them what had happened to us that they would be honest and not take advantage of us. They were asked many questions about the vehicle, where it came from, motor, work done, etc. We were told they were good motors no issues and so on. Said there were no previous issues with the truck and had asked for a Carfax report. We purchased the truck, in 9 days, 995 miles the truck broke down twice, lost power briefly and then it wouldn't go over 40 miles per hour at most. We were also pulling a 26' travel trailer, which they knew about. We were told by many people, including another ford dealer as well as their service dept. that the motor was notorious for issues and if it has already happened twice, even if they fixed it, the problem would most likely come back and it could shut the power down permanently. They told us that if it was them and their family, they wouldn't drive it off the lot. I asked the Supervisor of Dealer Licensing of SD Division of Motor Vehicles about them and he also said they were terrible. So, the salesman lied, the GM/Owner Kevin lied and the GM, Pete lied about these motors. When calling them about the issue, the response from Pete was "It is your problem now; there are no lemon laws in SD". They are really nice till they get your money and then they turn to the dark side very quickly! Now, Kevin responds through the BBB after we have been going back and forth with this issue and says bring the truck back in the condition it was in when they sold it to us and we will give you back your truck and we will cancel the whole deal like it never happened. They knew the issues with the truck we had after we drove it off the lot, (not too sure it didn't already have those issues and the computer was reset), but he also knew that the dealer we sold it to wholesaled it so it would be impossible for us to get it back to them. This was confirmed by an email I received from the GM at the other dealership. The owner had called us over a week ago and insinuated that he was going to help us out, but when we didn't respond to questions the way he wanted us to, he would say "You are making it very difficult for me to help you". He said that he would sleep on it and call us the next morning and let us know what he would do to help us. He never did call! He did email and said that he was going to hold funds owed to us on the warranty we cx and said that he wouldn't send the title to the other dealer we traded it into until he got the title. Per Dealer Licensing, they said it was illegal for him to do those things. Then he tried to get out of paying us what he owed us for the warranty until I told him that I knew what the correct amount was and that was the amount I wanted refunded. It wasn't until we got home that Kevin Rhoades emailed me and told me of previous issues and sent only part of the Carfax report. The salesman and Kevin Rhoades lied to us about most everything and now deny it. Pete, the GM was very rude and had a non-caring attitude. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALER, IF YOU DO, GET EVERYTHING THEY TELL YOU IN WRITING AND READ AND QUESTION EVERY LINE OF PAPERWORK BEFORE SIGNING IT. And NEVER SIGN ANYTHING IF YOU ARE UNDER ANY STRESS! More
