I have a confession to make. Before I buy anything big I read the reviews of the product and the place. But I don't think that I've ever written a review. Of course there have been times when I told myself read the reviews of the product and the place. But I don't think that I've ever written a review. Of course there have been times when I told myself that I should but...well you know. So here I go. I was looking for a used car last week and walked into White Plains Honda where I met with Keith. I have to say that instantly I felt comfortable with him. "But he's the enemy!!" I said to myself. "Don't get too close. Car salesman...you know" (I don't have many conversations with myself) It was useless, though. Keith has such an easy going way about himself that you just feel like you are talking to an old friend. Even after I changed my mind about which car I wanted, he just rolled with it. And so I remembered that it's the dreaded sales manager who you got to watch out for. "Red Alert!" Here comes Joe the manager...wait...no don't do this...don't change the way I feel about car dealerships (do I really have to spell it out for you!) Hey Joe, stop changing the universe man. I noticed that each desk had a sign posted, 'No Negativity Allowed", and they really mean it. It may sound cliche, but they really mean it. Listen, I know that it's just a used...excuse me...Certified Pre-Owned car, but I really had a good experience here and its'a about time that I pay it forward. You know when you are talking to friends and somebody says "I got a guy..." I certainly will be calling Keith in the future. More
I went to multiple Honda dealerships while looking for a new car and, not only did I get the best deal at White Plains Honda, but they were by far the most pleasurable to work with. new car and, not only did I get the best deal at White Plains Honda, but they were by far the most pleasurable to work with. Great Review. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Sandy Vargas and Gustavo for the finance part. I don't usually do the rating for review but I had a great experience and I greatly appreciated all th Sandy Vargas and Gustavo for the finance part. I don't usually do the rating for review but I had a great experience and I greatly appreciated all that Ms. Sandy did so wanted to give her a great review. This was my second place looking at for a certified honda in my price range. I talked to Sandy Vargas she was very polite, friendly and had a lot of knowledge about all Hondas, she broke everytime down to me and explained what was different about each one. Most dealers barely know so I was very greatful to have her for my dealer. She worked very hard at getting me the right type of honda I was looking for and for a great price. She spent a lot of time and effort into the perfect honda for me and my family and I appreciate all of her help. I want to think Ms.Sandy for her hard work, kindness and great hospitality. She made my experience easy and stressless. I also want to thank Mr. Gustavo for findimg me a great payment plan and APR. I appreciate all you guys hard work and dont want it to go unrecognized. Thank You all once again. She is a great asset to your staff at White Plains Honda. I was very satisfied with my Honda outcome. Best car dealership experience I have had so far thanks to Ms.Sandy. I recommend this dealership to anyone looking for great Honda at a great price range. More
Went to check out an Odyssey and dealt with a nice, but unknowledgeable salesman. It was a 2008 Touring with the Michelin run-flat tires. I was never told any details about these special tires or how expen unknowledgeable salesman. It was a 2008 Touring with the Michelin run-flat tires. I was never told any details about these special tires or how expensive they are to replace. I bought the van. Later I spoke to a friend who has the same exact van. He told me all about the tires and the class action lawsuits etc. I contacted my salesman and informed him of what I found out. He said he was unaware. He then told me I could put regular tires on the van. That is incorrect, the rims are specifically made for those tires. A couple of months later when I noticed the tires were looking pretty worn, (they were bad when I bought the van but I was told they met specs.), I called my salesman again. He said the tires cost $525 each but he could make it $450. This was not acceptable. Enter Joe Carusone. Joe was a newly appointed manager in the used car showroom. I went to see him about this issue and his first comment was that my problem happened before he was there, he was unwilling to deal with it. I persisted and he finally began working with me. The following is a letter that is going to be sent to his boss and the Honda corporation, it serves to explain the rest of what happened to me: Mr. Carusone, I cannot allow you to think that I am one of those customers who just finds things to complain about and won’t go away. I am the exact opposite. What I am is a customer who has experienced a comedy of errors with Honda White Plains Used Cars. Unfortunately there is no humor involved. It started with an inexperienced but very nice salesman named Keith Johnson. I purchased a used 2008 Honda Odyssey from him. His lack of knowledge about the Michelin run flat tires caused the initial problem. You yourself said the car should never have been on the lot with those tires on it. They were very badly worn down and dangerous to drive on in the rain. When I brought the problem to your attention the first thing you said was it’s not your problem it happened before you began as manager. That is of course NOT what you should ever say to a customer. You should instead simply take ownership of the problem as the manager and deal with the issue. You eventually did this once you saw that I was not backing down, and, why should I have? In reality the tires should have been free to make up for the problem, but I agreed to your deal of $1000. We scheduled a date for the new tire installation. I bring it in and you tell me the “guy” isn’t in that day. Then I bring it back…is my time valuable to you? I get the car back and it was scratched on the front left bumper and my rims are nicked. We make an arrangement for me to bring it in and it took me some time to schedule the appointment. I finally get around to bringing the car in for detailing, (which you offered to appease the initial situation) and to have touch-up done to fix the damage inflicted by the service department. You tell me there’s nothing you can do about the rims, (did I make an issue about that? I could have demanded new ones and really gone crazy about it, but I didn’t). I bring it in at the scheduled time of 10AM on Sept 12th and you tell me to come back at 3PM. Originally you said it would take considerably less time but I went along with 3PM. I come back at 3 and you tell me the touch-up guy didn’t show. You should have called before I showed up but you didn’t. Your attitude while I was standing there at that moment was not very customer friendly. It is not my problem that you are doing grunt work and the guy didn’t show. You agree with me to have the car delivered in the next 2 hours, (by 5PM). I text you at 5:05PM and you tell me it will be there in 15 minutes. Another hour goes by and no car. I text you again and express that I am now angry and that your guy will have to wait if I’m having dinner. The car shows up and the touch-up paint that was applied is the wrong color/tone. Now I have to get the correct color from you and paint it all over. You call me and have the nerve to tell me you don’t appreciate the tone of my text; you should NEVER say that to a customer. You tell me you have bent over backwards; really? You did pretty good at best. And let’s not forget the first thing you said about this not being your problem. Not good customer service at all. I am not the customer from xxxx, I have actually incurred all of the things that I told you. None of these incidents were made up or exaggerated. You have the nerve to tell me I’ll never be satisfied, would you be? Put yourself in my place, (which is what you should do as a manager). Do you honestly think these things are acceptable or do you understand that they are real problems that actually occurred? Do you feel that I should have overlooked some of these things, that they aren’t “such a big deal”? It seems to me your intentions or promises are good but you have trouble executing your commitments. Maybe you talk a good game and that’s it. Or, it’s possible you really mean to do what you say and you just can’t catch a break. I cannot tell which is true. There are a few things that are for certain and based in facts. 1. I am a victim of several consecutive problems and nothing is fabricated 2. The level of service and hospitality I received during this ordeal is good at best. More
