Ramon has totally gone way beyond the extra mile to help us, and Melvin has been lovely to work with as well. We highly recommend Westgate Kia of Wake Forest! More
Advised on the exact issue. Waited 2 weeks for an appointment, then a full day for them confirm what I said, then 4 days for the part and I was told it would take one day, then Waited 2 weeks for an appointment, then a full day for them confirm what I said, then 4 days for the part and I was told it would take one day, then soonest appt to fix 2 weeks out but then told it could take a few days. I asked for a car and was told to speak to the service manager. Was told the service manager was not there. I asked for a callback (I know that isn't happening). I'm driving around with a screwed up Rear Differential until they can get me in (knowing that it's probably screwing up my transmission along the way). More
I had my vehice towed into the dealership per the recall notice. The exact lights came on that were of issue in the recall. The dealership kept my car for days then claimed it wasn't because of the recall notice. The exact lights came on that were of issue in the recall. The dealership kept my car for days then claimed it wasn't because of the recall, it was a bad battery, and a host of other things. Well, I picked up my car refusing any service, paid the usurious $200 for the diagnosis, and drove it to the Auto Zone. My battery was FINE. Nothing wrong with it. But the lights were all off. I supposed they disconnected the battery and they will probably come back on once it's triggered again. Oh, and my radio miraculously works again after being crap for a year. What actually happened? We’ve more than once had to take the car in to them to repair an issue because it wasn’t fixed after the last time we took it, or they have to order more parts or whatever. That’s all fine. I get that sometimes they don’t see what we see just from test driving it. What is not ok is the quality of communication we’ve gotten. I have used Gonzalo for multiple cars, and he seems like a nice enough guy. But communication is lacking, and today, it caused us to pay for things that we shouldn’t have to pay for. We were set up for a tire rotation and oil change today, so we dropped the car off at 7 AM. We got a phone call at 8 saying that we would have to pay for our oil change (despite having free oil changes for life) because I had changed the cabin air filter, which had recently started to smell up the vehicle with how gross it was. Now, the last time they changed the filters for us, I specifically asked him if I could change the filters to the aftermarket ones that are reusable. And I was told that yes, I can change the engine filter, but the cabin filter will have to still be changed because they don’t make a reusable one for Tellurides. No where in what he told me did he say that Kia has to change the filter or it voids our free oil change. He just said that it would have to be done. I tried calling him this morning shortly after 8 to discuss this and try and resolve the matter, since he had only talked to my girlfriend. I left a message for him, and he never called me back. We didn’t hear from him at all until almost 5 PM, when he again called my girlfriend. This is not only poor communication, but miscommunication…and his miscommunication cost his customer, which didn’t seem to matter to him. More
I bought my 2017 Kia Sorento on 9/8/21. It failed inspection on 9/17/22 due to window tint being too dark for NC law; failing by 10%. I called the dealership and was directed to Ron. I was It failed inspection on 9/17/22 due to window tint being too dark for NC law; failing by 10%. I called the dealership and was directed to Ron. I was told he was a sales manager. His immediate response was that tint darkens with time and I bought the car a year ago. He also said they equipment being used for this inspection could be faulty. I don't know much about window tinting but I have been assured by multiple sources, including tinting companies and the inspection center that the car tint would not have become that dark in one year. Ron said I had two options. He knows many people who have illegal tinted windows and use the same inspector who will always pass those tints. I could try to find someone who could do that for me or I could come in and the service department could remove the tint from the front two windows. I decided I need a car that can legitimately pass inspection and frankly, I don't even know anyone who would pass a tint that is not legal. I called Ron today, 9-28-22. Ron said he could get his service department to remove the tint, but they do not reapply any tint. They use a tinting company and it would cost me $95. I said I would not have bought the car had I known it would not pass inspection. He became condescending and was incredulous that I would make a decision about purchasing a car based on tint that costs so little to fix. I explained that I do enjoy having a tint but, again, I had no idea it was too dark to pass inspection. I said I also thought it would look strange to me if the car had very dark tint on all windows, but absolutely no tint on the front two windows. He said he would have to get back with me about getting me into his service department and getting me into the tinting company, but I would definitely pay for the reapplication myself. I have an unexpected trip next weekend. Since I live over an hour away from the dealership, am on a time crunch, and don't want a ticket, I told him I would just take care of all this myself, but that I was displeased. He said he didn't understand why I would be upset, as he had offered to have the tint removed. I got three different quotes from tinting companies. All of them close to $200. One of which said that Kia Westgate should not have sold me a car that is not legal to be driven in NC and it should be reported. I called back and asked if I could speak to anyone other than Ron as he made me uncomfortable. I was transferred to Ron anyway. I relayed the above information and said that I was planning to contact the Attorney General and I was going to write this review. He became angry and would not let me speak, telling me I was in the wrong. At the time, I was picking up my young son from my father's house. My father was aware of the situation and could hear how Ron was speaking to me even though Ron was not on speaker nor the volume turned up. My father took the phone from me and attempted to take over the conversation with Ron. Ron would not let my father speak either and so the conversation ended unproductively. This is a long review and I don't know if anyone had the time to read it. I believe Kia Westgate to be an untrustworthy establishment and my interaction with Ron has left me shaken. I'm not sure if it's warranted, but I'm contacting the Attorney General anyway. More
Poor Business Practices – Unfortunately, unlike other reviewers, I had a very poor experience with the internet sales team at Westgate Kia. More specifically, I corresponded with the internet sales team reviewers, I had a very poor experience with the internet sales team at Westgate Kia. More specifically, I corresponded with the internet sales team regarding a vehicle in which I was interested. The sales team ran a credit check, provided initial terms, and scheduled a time for me to come-in for a test drive and to have my trade-in appraised. I offered to bring my trade-in for appraisal on a Wednesday, but was told that they did not have staff available and so we set an appointment for Friday. On the date of my appointment I received an email confirming my appointment and I called to confirm that everything was in order for my test drive and appraisal. My appointment was confirmed and then I began a 200 mile drive to the dealership. As I was about to turn-in to the dealership I received a call informing me that they had received an inquiry on the vehicle in which I was interested the evening prior, had taken a down payment, and scheduled the other prospective buyer for an appointment prior to my appointment. In the end, this person purchased the vehicle. It seems to me that an ethical business would have honored my scheduled appointment and allowed me the opportunity to purchase the vehicle, prior to selling it to someone else. Or, at least contacted me to see if I wished to make a down payment. Minimally, I would have expected that I would have been informed via phone, text, or email that the car had been sold prior to me driving 200 miles. When I asked the salesperson why I had not been informed/contacted, even though I found their business practices objectionable, I was told the sales staff were “too slammed” to contact me. – Based on my experience, I would caution potential customers against attempting to purchase a vehicle via Westgate Kia’s online sales team. Only giving 1 star because there is no way to give Westgate Kia what they really deserve- a big fat ZERO! Dishonest and downright greedy. We went through Sam’s Club/True Car when searching for a new Westgate Kia what they really deserve- a big fat ZERO! Dishonest and downright greedy. We went through Sam’s Club/True Car when searching for a new car. Westgate responded with an offer. After calling to see if the car was still available, we made an appointment and went to discuss the deal. There was no deal. From the moment we received the offer, it was one lie after another. The salesperson I had a appointment with never showed, the car was not in the lot but in transit, they said they didn’t send the offer, they upped the offer price by more than 5k above. MSRP and when we showed interest in some of the used cars on the lot they weren’t interested in showing us those. Ultimately, they did not accept our offer which was close to 3K above their original offer. Both the Sales and General manager emailed after we left with their form letters asking what they could do to earn our business. When I responded that we would like to buy the car but we’re too far apart so let’s talk-I got crickets (no response). We now believe we dodged a bullet! As Consumer Reports just ranked 2022 model cars and the Kia Sorento was listed as Kia’s MOST unreliable car scoring a 5 out of 100. So good luck to the poor soul who got suckered into grossly overpaying for that car. And to Heather, the Salesperson, Ramon, the Sales Manager and Steve, the General Manager -Looks like you all landed in the job that best uses your less than admirable talents. Taking advantage of and skewing people out of their hard earned money. Run for your life people-avoid Westgate Kia like the plaque! Barbara Meleney More
