Changing Perceptions of Car Salesmen Forever Typically, going to a car dealership means fighting through a crowd of hungry salesmen when you're just trying to take a look a a potential car. This figurative battle creates an uncomfortable feeling for most car buyers, like myself, when car shopping. Furthermore, the car salesman that gets to talk to you is constantly trying to upsell and swindle you out of a good deal. Mike Wing at Westgate was no typical salesman at a car dealership. I walked in and was by met by the front desk employee who directed calling someone to help us, I was already nervous at the time, thinking I would have to fight off the guy saying I was just looking around. When Mike came around and introduced himself, I was pleasantly surprised about how congenial and amicable he was during the introduction process and looking for the right car for myself. It took awhile to find the right car with all the specific features I was looking for, but we finally narrowed it down and then I wanted prices. Now again, typically, this is when the salesman gets you and tries to take all your money. Well again my stereotyping of car salesmen was contradicted with Mike. I told him what's I wanted and what I could afford over all with the car and insurance and he advocated for my price point. He went back and forth with the manager trying to get me my deal. I consider myself to be firm and frugal with purchases in general and I wasn't willing to budge with my price, with Mike's help I managed to get out with a sweet deal on a visit I wasn't planning on making a purchase unless the deal was perfect! All I can say Is that I was extremely satisfied with my experience for the first time at a car dealership. And my perceptions of car salesmen are forever changed by Mike Wing. If you're looking for a Jeep, Chrysler, or anything else at Westgate, you should go see Mike and actually have someone help you out, not trying to rip you off. More
