False Pricing Information, Refused to Correct It In the process of negotiating a price for a used car that my parents were interested in buying, Jessica gave me a NADA printed value for the car and t In the process of negotiating a price for a used car that my parents were interested in buying, Jessica gave me a NADA printed value for the car and told me that number was what she could sell it for. She did this to support her contention that the price we were negotiating was a certain discount off of that price, to support that she was giving me a good deal. About half an hour after leaving the dealership with a negotiated price that I communicated to my parents, I looked back at the NADA value print-out and noticed that it wrongly included in the price 2 features (roof rack and rear entertainment system) that the car we were discussing did not have. It incorrectly made the quoted NADA almost $800 higher than it should have been. I immediately texted her and asked her about this, and she admitted that it was a mistake. But she ignored my request to correctly adjust the purchase price of the vehicle so that I got the same deal off the NADA value that I negotiated with her. I then asked her why she thought this type of practice was OK when I felt it was fraudulent. She did not answer me, and instead began communicating directly with my father, who is in his 70s and did not know about this issue yet. I find it distasteful, at a minimum, that Westgate would be dishonest in order to game someone out of $800, avoiding providing the justification for that, and failing to communicate with me. More
