Westgate jacks up the price with useless addons (Lojack), higher than average doc fees, and "misc" fees, then refuses to negotiate on price. We were close to buying a car here, took it to a mechanic for a review, and found it needed a significant $3000 repair. Even with this evidence Westgate refused to budge on price, doubted the mechanic, and said someone else would buy it. BUYER BEWARE! More
I initially made contact with Westgate CDJR in Raleigh on October 28th about a used 2022 Ram TRX. After a test drive and talking some numbers, we came to terms and they told me they couldn't legally sell th October 28th about a used 2022 Ram TRX. After a test drive and talking some numbers, we came to terms and they told me they couldn't legally sell the vehicle until they had the title on premises. No problems, so, I purchased the truck from them on November 6th, 2024 since the title was released to them from the state on November 1st. The transaction, at first, was pretty smooth. I applied for a plate transfer, which I've done in the past, and it was never a big deal. The first sign of problems came when I had to track down a manager just to get a signed copy of the documents since they delivered the truck to my house. Since I asked for a plate transfer, I needed some documentation to keep me legal and prove the vehicle is mine. Since then, I've contacted the dealership and the NC DMV multiple times in order to figure out why a 10-14 day process still isn't finished. The paperwork got messed up somewhere at their title office and the NC DMV ended up issuing me another title number for the vehicle I traded. I finally got ahold of a finance manager last week who said it was a mess up on the bank's part (xxxxxxxx) and that it'll "just take a little time" and I was only able to get some correspondance from the finance manager after multiple emails and calls because I threatened to contact the NC DoJ and start blasting out reviews. As of today, January 7th, 2025, my trade has been sold, tagged, and titled while I still don't have an updated registration and my truck is still registered to the previous owner. I previously purchased from the Wake Forest store and was under the impression the Westgate group was pretty military and veteran friendly. I certainly won't make that mistake again and I would urge others to seriously consider other dealerships. I do want to give a shout out to the salesman Hamza because he's been pretty responsive. I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee in December 2018 from this dealership. I was very satisfied with the service center until the last 4 months. The service in the Jeep Service area STINKS. I think I have se this dealership. I was very satisfied with the service center until the last 4 months. The service in the Jeep Service area STINKS. I think I have seen the service change in this area since assuming new management in the Jeep Service area. There is no flexibility in walk in service, long wait times for service, over booking, a broken internet service appointment system, etc. I went in on November 25, 2024 for check engine light on and the diagnostic test showed a throttle system malfunction. I was advised by the gentleman in the service area I should not drive the vehicle as it could breakdown or shut down at any time. The gentleman adivsed me to make an appointment for service. I made an appointment online and got a confirmation for Dec.7, 2024 at 12 noon. I arrive at the Service Center to drop the vehicle at 10:30 am to only be told I did not have an appointment. I show the gentleman the email confirmation and serveral appointment reminders on my phone. He said, "Well yeah no we can't do your car today." He shrugged then said, "Yeah sorry." I felt very disrespected and told him that was xx. I waited almost 2 weeks for an appointment and could have made an appointment with another Jeep service center. I know Westgate Jeep has lost a loyal customer because I am done. I will take my money and business elsewhere. More
I purchased a car new and my first experience with service has been horrible. I had to initiate constant follow ups & open a case with Dodge to get prompt resolution. All said and done, the work per service has been horrible. I had to initiate constant follow ups & open a case with Dodge to get prompt resolution. All said and done, the work performed was done well (albeit from a 3rd party). I won't go into a long writeup of everything that has transpired over the past 2 months as there were multiple fumbles. The net net is that you will not feel like you are a valued customer, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, you will have to chase them and be prepared for non-call backs and missed commitments. My first oil change is "free" as part of my purchase however I will not be going back. I guess I am lucky that this was not a more serious problem. More
I bought a vehicle from this lot, couple days later realized the front bumper had huge scratches down the side. I contacted the sales guy and he told me the car wasn’t like this when I purchased it. I left town the following day and realized it when I returned home. They sold me a damaged vehicle. More

I purchased a used jeep rubicon and when I looked at it looked great and after driving it it had a little bit of a shake in it but I figured it was just a tire out of balance but that wasn’t bad enough to looked great and after driving it it had a little bit of a shake in it but I figured it was just a tire out of balance but that wasn’t bad enough to stop sale. I was told that there service department checked it out and they came up with no problems they said. I also asked about the stop and go engines stops when you stop well it did not work when I test drove it and checked why and it said auxiliary battery was charging however I was never told the battery was actually bad nor disclose it was bad. Which the service department had to know if they went through it. Also the seats leather looked very good. However when I get home I find a split in the seam someone had superglued it together and it came back apart again. I drove it yesterday and the jeep completely would not start why because auxiliary batter drained main battery so towed it to local jeep place here and come to find out the batteries needed to be replaced and they said it should have been caught up during their check. Also the right front wheel was warped somehow probably hitting a pothole or something near that. The seat was told needs to be repaired the correct way taken off cover and resowing it but the glue would still show. I would not recommend this place to buy however I would if he worked elsewhere recommend the sales man he didn’t know anything about the problems. Now after a grand to have batteries replaced and installed plus having another 300 plus to have seat fixed. A very disappointed customer. And will sell it or trade for another one but definitely will tell whoever gets it the truth about it. More

DO NOT buy ANY vehicle from WestGate Dodge Ram dealership at 6421 Old Westgate Road in Raleigh. You have been warned!! Spent $51,000 last moth in a used vehicle there. A few questions in, and I mean SIMPLE questions, like "Is the Sirius XM radio trial membership allowed to be transferred to one of my other vehicles", to what is the light on the dash that won't come off, and sales guy Eric Holmes (who acts nice when you are buying the vehicle) LITERALLY ignores all of your text messages after PRETENDING that you can text him, anytime, with "any questions"! Nope! Apparently you can't! More
Do not take your vehicle into this place for service! I took both my dodge challenger and Ram 1500 in for service back in October 2023. My Challenger needed a battery, however after I received the ca I took both my dodge challenger and Ram 1500 in for service back in October 2023. My Challenger needed a battery, however after I received the car back my dashboard lit up with all kind of warning lights. After 2 months they were unable to correctly diagnose and fix the issue. In February after frustration I took the car to another Dealer in Durham and within a week they diagnosed the issue as being a loose ground wire likely caused by whomever replaced the battery. The dodge Ram was taken in the same week for what I thought was a bad clutch. They diagnosed the issue as a bad clutch, ordered the parts tat came in in January and the have yet to schedule my truck in for service 4 months after the parts came in. After placing weekly chasing phone calls(Often with no return phonecalls) and being told I would be scheduled the following week on and on I went to the drastic measure of having the truck towed to the same dealer in Durham and a 2 days later they diagnosed the issue as an oil pan leak and stated that I didn't need a clutch that I was about to pay for at Westgate. Take your vehicle to this shop at your own peril. More
