My wife and I went to Westbury Toyota, two weeks ago to look at pre-owned certified Highlanders XLE we saw advertised online. We test drove two 2021 certified XLE highlanders and liked one of them. We to look at pre-owned certified Highlanders XLE we saw advertised online. We test drove two 2021 certified XLE highlanders and liked one of them. We agreed to purchase it and signed all the preliminary paperwork. The car was being detailed and we even contacted our insurance company and received new insurance cards. After many hours at this dealership we learned the car could not be certified due to a recall. This car was fraudulently advertised online as a certified pre-owned car. It was clearly not. The dealership then offered us to purchase the car as a used car and would throw in the extended warranty. We agreed and met with the finance manager. He then quietly said our rate to finance the car went from 5.45% to 9.8%. Our salesperson and the manager did not disclose this information to us and was very deceitful. Our salesperson then was able to lower it to high sevens and we said no since we can get a better rate elsewhere. We walked away from the deal. Today we purchased a pre-owned Toyota Highlander and the dealership got us 6.79%. No issues at all and had a wonderful experience. We were very disappointed with Westbury Toyota. Beware of Their Finance managers they try to make a lot on the loan markup . More
