We made a deal on last day of July (before MA tax hike) to buy the Sienna XLE. The model I wanted was not in stock, so they had to special order it. They called me a week later to let me know they found th to buy the Sienna XLE. The model I wanted was not in stock, so they had to special order it. They called me a week later to let me know they found the Van and it will be here by 8/24. I called one week before the promised delivery date to find out the status. First they told me they weren't getting money from the CARS program, so they want more money from my deal ($1000 more). I said NO, of course. Then they tried to sequeeze $500 from me, no way. I told them to refund me if they can't honor their own contract (I could have sued them). After all these lies, I had enough of them. I got my money back and I won't buy any car from them. I will tell my bad experience to others. More
My husband and I went to this dealer over the weekend to test drive a 2010 Prius. We are interested in taking part of the "Cash for Clunkers" program the federal government is rolling out. My old 92 Lexus q test drive a 2010 Prius. We are interested in taking part of the "Cash for Clunkers" program the federal government is rolling out. My old 92 Lexus qualifies and is about to die. We drove up and there were salespeople outside stalking customers. We were not even able to get out of the car before someone pounced on us. We told him up front we were not interested in buying that day, that we were just test driving. The entire time we were there he badgered us repeatedly to buy one of the ones on the lot. He knew absolutely nothing about the car itself. The test drive was pretty much silent, he never told us anything about the car. When we asked questions he would say “I don’t know” and then blame Toyota for not sending him to sales training for the Prius (which has been out for TEN YEARS). He then resorted to asking my husband what things were in the car to which my husband reminded him HE was the salesman. He repeatedly pushed us to buy the silver one we had test drove and never asked us what options we wanted. We went inside to see if he could give us a price and he knew almost nothing about the Cash for Clunkers bill other than he had heard of it. He said he could give us a “couple hundred bucks” for trading in my old car and didn’t seem to understand why we would want to wait for the Cash for Clunkers program to roll out. He whined that the government was trying to screw the auto dealers to which I told him he would not have gotten my business otherwise. My husband gave him a price to negotiate on PLUS the $4500 discount for the Cash for Clunkers program and he took it to his manager who promptly told us the Cash for Clunkers bill did not start til July 24th (which we had already told him at the beginning) and he couldn’t go any lower than sticker price. So after several hours of being there we were only given sticker price. He then asked for a deposit and basically wouldn’t let us leave even though we told him we had no interest in buying the car that day. He made test driving this car extremely painful as the entire time we were there I was looking for a quick getaway. I knew going to a car dealership would not be enjoyable but he was over the top pushy and on top of that did not know ANYTHING about the car. He literally expected us to buy the one off the lot no questions asked. When we go to actually buy the car we will NOT be going back to this dealership. More

During this time frame, I have called this dealership many times for prices. My feeling is that if I know what I want, why waste time and fuel driving to the dealership. Despite giving this dealership all the information they need to give me a quote, they never return phone calls as promised. This is true again. I'm in the market for a new Venza. All necessary information was given to the salesperson regarding the lease parameters that I wanted. Now, more than 24 hours later, I have yet to receive a phone call. No problem, other area dealerships have been more than accommodating. I guess Westboro Toyota has taught me a lesson..."don't bother calling us, we don't need a family who buys new Toyotas on a frequent basis". More

When we returned and wanted to talk about the options/pricing/trade in details, he was nowhere close to friendly. He wasn’t aggressive but he did not ask us what options we needed in a car, my purchase plans and the worst of all, when asked about trade in he bluntly (with a icky face) threw a ridiculous number (KBB value was more than twice of what he estimated). He didn’t get his butt up off his seat to look at my car or ask about its condition. This is where I felt the discomfort. One of the most boring purchasing experiences I had. We were treated like we were wasting his time. If you head down here, stay away from this sales rep. He is a real downer. I am buying a camry and will not go back to this dealer. More

I recently purchased a new 2009 Camry Hybrid. After researching prices on Edmunds.com, I contacted Westboro Toyota, Harr Toyota (in Worcester), Bernardi Toyota (in Framingham), and Herb Chambers Toyota researching prices on Edmunds.com, I contacted Westboro Toyota, Harr Toyota (in Worcester), Bernardi Toyota (in Framingham), and Herb Chambers Toyota (in Auburn). Both Westboro and Harr offered "internet" prices on their websites. They were roughly equivalent. I first visited Harr and took a test drive there. Chris Allen there was very friendly and nice to deal with. If I lived closer to the Harr dealership, I would probably have bought from them. However, I also visited Westboro Toyota and dealt with Mike Martin, who was also very nice. Unfortunately, their "internet" prices vary daily and their current price was about $1300-1400 higher than it had been. Mike thought he could get them to match the Harr price if not their own earlier one, which they did. The entire process was very pleasant at both dealerships. The actual process of paying for the car took quite awhile due to various offers for additional warranties, security systems and so on, some of which I opted for and others of which I declined. It was not high pressure, but it did take awhile. More
I contacted this dealer by email to get a price on a new Prius. The price Michael sent me was the better than any other dealership who'd responded BUT that was because the $400 new college grad rebate had b Prius. The price Michael sent me was the better than any other dealership who'd responded BUT that was because the $400 new college grad rebate had been applied. Unfortunately, I do not qualify (nor was I asked if I would), and I only found out it was being used to set the price after being alerted by someone else. The sad thing is, their price with the $400 added back in was not bad, but I don't like getting jerked around. Well, that saved me a good long drive out to Westboro. So Westboro, go ahead and use all those special clause rebates, but just be UPFRONT about it. "All available rebates" doesn't cut it unless they apply to all buyers for that car, and it just ticks off the comsumers. We just wonder what other tricks you have up your sleeves. More
I bought my first car at Westborough Toyota and I must say I loved my experence. I had a very low credit score and they were very upfront and honest. Based upon my financial position on the car I brought to the dealership, I was pushed into a deal for a vehicle that I did not want. I was told about certain features that were supposed to be included that the dealership, I was pushed into a deal for a vehicle that I did not want. I was told about certain features that were supposed to be included that were "added on" at the end. I was told that the vehicle that I really wanted would not tow enough weight, but this other vehicle would tow more. That was incorrect or a flat lie. The vehicle that I wanted would actually tow 30% more than the vehicle that was being pushed on me. I asked if there was some extra incentive for them to be pushing me toward the vehicle and was told no. I found out that the vehicle they were pushing has been discontinued and the factory that makes them is shut down. I was told this by another Toyota dealer who would have no reason to lie since they are also trying to move the same discontinued vehicle. I was given the run around for 2 days on financing of my trade and that I had a deal. When I came in to sign 2 days later, I was told that I would need to put additional money down. I would NEVER buy a car from them, recommend them nor would I even bring my vehicle there for service. More
I wanted to buy a new 2008 RAV 4 for which I asked for a quote on Edmunds.com. I received an e-mail from Westboro Toyota with a quote. I went in and met the salesperson who sent me the quote and he did the quote on Edmunds.com. I received an e-mail from Westboro Toyota with a quote. I went in and met the salesperson who sent me the quote and he did the paperwork, after which I went to the finance department and signed the purchase and sales agreement and gave them a check for the final amount (including taxes, registration and some documentation fees). I got a receipt, copy of the contract and an odometer statement, and was asked to pick up the car in two days. Until then, it was the smoothest car buying experience I had had. Two days later, I received a call from the business office saying that I had to pay $400 extra, failing which they would send me my check back. Needless to say, I did not agree to pay them the extra cash, as I thought this was unethical and improper business practice, once a contract had been signed. More
