Replacement needed Our 2011 Camry Hybrid had been hit in what seemed a small passenger door damage but was later labelled a "T-bone" a month ago. Then we received a call Our 2011 Camry Hybrid had been hit in what seemed a small passenger door damage but was later labelled a "T-bone" a month ago. Then we received a call offering us an up-grade on our hybrid. Westboro Toyota didn't tell us the frame was cut in the repair until they reduced the trade-in value when offering us a deal to up-grade to a 2014. Little odds and ends were not fully truthful---we got a different dealer than the original contact person; Wetboro did the repairs and said the car was now "great" -- except when it came to the trade-in value; the color we wanted was not available -but, low and behold, it was there on the lot; "only a couple of minutes more" to finish paperwork turned into over 4 hours of our Saturday. There was a lot of waiting around and we were about to walk out several times without a deal. We felt obligated to finish a deal with Westboro because they did the repairs - rather than try to start over with a different dealership. Overall, we are satisfied to be rid of a car with a questionable repair record, to have upgraded the vehicle without a major price change, and to have received a very kind offer of an extra helping hand from Jamie McDonald. His communication was excellent, he explained the entire process clearly and concisely and I bought a new car! It was a great experience and I would highly recommend your dealership and more specifically Shawn. More
The sales guy, David Travis, was nice up until the deal had to go down. Then he started with the sleazy sales lines like, "We don't make money on the financing, so it is in our best interests to get you t had to go down. Then he started with the sleazy sales lines like, "We don't make money on the financing, so it is in our best interests to get you the lowest rate possible". He also refused to provide specific information about the deal, particularly the financing rate. I asked him 3 times to ask the Sales Manager, David McAvay, what the APR was. All three times, when he came back, he refused to give me a rate and instead redirected my attention to a new, lower monthly payment schedule. At this point, the owner, Peter Tonelli, came over and went into an elaborate sales pitch on why leasing is better than buying. I should have got up and walked out then, but I was excited to get the newly designed 2014 Highlander. I ended up agreeing to a payment that I thought was reasonable. However, my mistake b/c I did this without ever getting the financing rate. Their "guarantee that we would provide you with the lowest rate available" ended up being 5.52%...a full 3% higher than my local credit union. I didn't realize this until the next day when I was able to input the terms of the deal into my lease model and it spit out the 5.52%! The deal closing process, working with Business Manager, Bob Kenney, was surreal as well. He wisks me into his beat up office and tells me to start signing this electonic keypad. I ask him where the paperwork is and he says everything is done digitally, that once I sign, he will print it all out and review it with me. Again, alarm bells should have gone off, but I was excited to get into a new car. I signed away, he printed the papers, put a staple in them, and handed them to me, thanking me for the business. No explanation, no review. Once I was able to run the numbers, it dawned on me that I got played like a fiddle. The business practices at Westboro Toyota are questionable at best, and borderline illegal. They are dishonest in that they don't actually lie to you verbally. They just don't disclose all the details and then play to your excitement of getting a new car. There were at least 4 times that alarm bells went off and I should have gotten up and walked out. But my excitement got the better of me and now I am stuck in a 3 year lease, paying $80/month more than I should be. Upon calling them back and pointing out that I was dissatisfied, Bob offered to take care of a couple oil changes. Really, Toyota takes care of oil changes for the first 25,000 miles. And an oil change isn't going to make up for $80/month. The owner politely told me that he reviewed my deal and everything was in order, that it wasn't his fault that I didn't make them give me a rate. I told him i asked at least 3 times, once right in front of him, and he ignored that and said it wasn't his fault. The guys is as shady as the day is long. Just one more example of why car salesmen are one step below ambulance-chasers in the pecking order of job reputations. Never again will I use Westboro Toyota and I am writing this review as a warning to other unsuspecting people out there excited to get a new car. You will be overcharged and brow-beat into leasing a car with poor financing terms. It's not worth it. STAY AWAY FROM WESTBORO TOYOTA. More
The sales person, David Travis was very professional, efficient, courteous, and explained everything I needed to know about the new features of the Toyota Camry. He was able to get me a very good deal f efficient, courteous, and explained everything I needed to know about the new features of the Toyota Camry. He was able to get me a very good deal for the trade in of my older vehicle. The business director, Keith Miranda, was very knowledgeable about the financing of my vehicle. It wasn't a pressure sales pitch, but rather providing the knowledge of what is so good about the car. They are open to exploring the best option for my financial situation and a car that will help me for the future. I love this dealership, they are the best, friendly, and customer service is the best. More
I found the truck I was looking for in an online search. The dealer with the truck I wanted was Westboro Toyota so I called to make sure they still had it. They did, I went to test drive it and bought it. T The dealer with the truck I wanted was Westboro Toyota so I called to make sure they still had it. They did, I went to test drive it and bought it. I have been going to Westboro Toyota for the past 6 years for service after purchasing my Corolla there. I'd definitely recommend our salesperson, Jamie McDonald. He answered all our questions, was patient and is not the stereotypical, overbearing car salesman. He was proactive about returning our cal McDonald. He answered all our questions, was patient and is not the stereotypical, overbearing car salesman. He was proactive about returning our calls and checking to find answers if he didn't have them. He even took us for a test drive (one of several) in a snowstorm, minutes from closing time. If you want to work with someone who is responsive and gets the job done in a straight-forward, helpful way, you should ask for Jamie. Had positive experiences with Mike (manager), and Bob (finance) as well. The dealership, in general, is friendly. The restrooms are clean. They offer snacks and coffee, hot cider, etc. Since we leased new cars, I can't comment on the service department yet, but from what I could see, service customers also seemed pleased with the overall experience. We bought our Prius here new in Dec '10 and I would struggle to find anything to complain about. The car has 60,000 miles on it and has not had a problem which helps. I have brought it exclusively he struggle to find anything to complain about. The car has 60,000 miles on it and has not had a problem which helps. I have brought it exclusively here for service. Every 5K I pay $20 for an inspection and tire rotation and every 10K I pay about $100 for a synthetic oil change and various filters. I make the appointment online and usually wait for it to be finished, but there is a shuttle. The waiting area is the showroom - no frills at all outside of coffee and snacks, but that is fine with me. I usually work on the wireless. This dealership is exactly what I like - simple, no BS, get in and out without fuss. Maintenance is strictly by the manual (minimal for the Prius) with no extra stuff thrown in. $50 is a bit much for a TPMS re-program for my winter tire/wheel package, but blame Toyota for making this an impossible do-it-yourself task like some other manufacturers. I can't see a reason to go anywhere else for service. More
I have been looking for cars for several weeks but have not found a car I like and meets my needs at the price I want to pay. I did not expect to find that today but I was nearby Westboro Toyota after drop not found a car I like and meets my needs at the price I want to pay. I did not expect to find that today but I was nearby Westboro Toyota after dropping my son off for soccer practice and saw that they had a very good selection of Prius's. Whe I got home I looked up and saw that the on libe prices were very reasonable so when Mike called I asked my wife, we made an appointment and drove back to the dealership. Mike put us in touch with Fabricio who was very knowledgable about the Prius we were interested in and my own car as well. I have fond htat most sale people are not clear on how or why a hybrid works and are more interested in selling you on mark up or luxury point items. I also felt no pressure to but the car perhaps because we were interested in it. After we close the deal my woif mentioned on the way home that the whole experience was far better than she had had before buying cars. She felt they were honest and treated us with respect. More
