TLDR: The experience was a mess from start to finish but I LOVE the vehicle. I ordered my Telluride in Feb and was not given a delivery timeline -- I knew it would take 6+ months so this was not a concer I LOVE the vehicle. I ordered my Telluride in Feb and was not given a delivery timeline -- I knew it would take 6+ months so this was not a concern or a reason for my low star rating. First, the markup (over MSRP) felt shady because it was not discussed or mentioned at all. The $5ku markup was simply added to my pricing sheet and the dealership hoped I wouldn't notice or say anything. I caught it and asked directly -- Bri quickly told me this is non-negotiable. Markup isn't a surprise, I was simply upset that the dealership was not up-front about it. Moving on, the first 3-5 calls I received were from Kia Sales trying to sell me on another car. No update on my current order, none of the sales reps even knew I had already placed an order. Next 3ish months... complete silence. I had to call the dealership to ask for an update. I had to call the dealership to see if the VIN was created. Guess what, it was created 10 days prior but I received zero notification. I had to call back 2 weeks later to find my own estimated delivery date. The only call I received in this timeframe was from a Kia Sales manager who asked if I still wanted the vehicle.. even worse, he sounded disappointed when I said "yes"-- I'm sure he was upset that he couldn't increase the markup and make even more money off the car. Lastly, the pickup experience was also a mess. In total, it took 2 days and 5.5 hours to drive off the lot. I expected this process to be easy since I already had financing and the vehicle was ordered 6 months prior. Instead, Day 1 was 2 hours of waiting for finance even though we had an appointment scheduled and financing pre-approved. While waiting, our sales rep walked us through some features for the vehicle. we quickly noticed that NONE of the accessories/add-ons that we ordered were included. We asked the rep and she had no idea. Kia removed the charges but it was disappointing that this wasn't noticed by anyone at the dealership. Day 2 took 2.5 hours even though the dealership was empty when we arrived. I really love this vehicle but the experience was awful. Everyone was very nice, but my wife and I were treated like numbers, not like customers who purchased the top-level trim for a brand-new car. If we didn't really want this car, we would have 100% backed out and went somewhere else. More
