Hello, West County Honda held a Sales Event at Hello, West County Honda held a Sales Event at Chesterfield mall this weekend and today (8-4-2012) I TRIED to buy a 2010 VW GTI from Bill Cafarella Hello, West County Honda held a Sales Event at Chesterfield mall this weekend and today (8-4-2012) I TRIED to buy a 2010 VW GTI from Bill Cafarella who was on-site approving all the deals that day. I had a wonderful salesman, Shawn, who went with me on the test drive. Upon returning to the dealership we made an offer which was rejected. After a few rounds of offers Bill Cafarella came back with an offer of $17,700 which I ACCEPTED. Upon telling my acceptance to Shawn who in turn went to Bill Cafarella I was informed that Bill had found someone willing to pay more than me and he was canceling the offer he made and that I accepted. Selling a car out from under a customer who had worked on buying the car all afternoon is a terrible business decision and I expected more from an owner. We asked for a personal apology from Bill Cafarella for wasting our Saturday afternoon and he refused to speak with me. Instead he used Eric Davis, the sales manager to run interference for him. Eric expressed his frustration with Bill and agreed this was a very bad situation and that Bill was acting improperly. Upon informing Eric that I would be posting my story to Dealer Rater his attitude slightly changed. I have never been treated this way by a dealer and especially not an owner. Bill Cafarella cares nothing for his customer's time and only about the bottom dollar. I suggest everyone save their time and visit other dealers. More
