Totally bad service on our 2006 Honda Pilot. A grinding Totally bad service on our 2006 Honda Pilot. A grinding engine noise only on a cold start was diagnosed by West County Honda as a bad "tensioner" Totally bad service on our 2006 Honda Pilot. A grinding engine noise only on a cold start was diagnosed by West County Honda as a bad "tensioner" on the serpentine belt they had replaced 3 months ago. They replaced this "tensioner" with our extended warranty picking up all but $100 of the cost. This did not solve the engine "cold start" noise problem. We returned to West County and they said it was possibly a "timing belt" or "power steering pump" without a mechanic actually opening the engine. They said "timing belts" were recommended to be replaced at 90,000 miles. Our Honda Pilot had 92,000 miles. West County said they would replace it for $1100 and that our extended warranty would not cover it since it was a regular scheduled maintenance item. We declined the "timing belt" replacement. Last week we drove this Pilot to Dallas, Texas, and back, with the "cold start" problem continuing as it had for the past 3 months. Upon returning to St. Louis, we immediately took it to another Honda dealer. Their service adviser immediately informed us that a "timing belt" replacement would cost us approximately $700 but Honda's recommended interval was at 105,000 miles and that our extended warranty would cover the labor cost if the timing belt proved defective or damaged. We would have to pay the deductible and the $93 part charge. Since the engine was not making the noise upon arrival at this dealer, we left the vehicle overnight so their mechanic could "cold" start it in the morning (we did the same thing at West County Honda). The next morning the mechanic started the engine and immediately recognized that the noise was a bad "water pump" but that he would confirm this by actually opening up the engine. Since the "water pump" also involved the "timing belt", it was recommended to go ahead and replace it. Again we were told our extended warranty would cover most of the cost. Within two hours, he had a solid and complete diagnosis. Not only was the water pump bad, but the idler was broken, the tensioner was broken, and the timing belt was almost broke, hanging by a thread. The mechanic was amazed that we made it to his dealership much less that we had gone to Dallas and back. Our extended warranty company even sent out a representative to view the defective parts and damage and totally concurred with the Honda mechanic. We would up paying only $259 which was our deductible and some labor cost on the idler. A far cry from West County Honda's $1100 price tag (and that was just for the timing belt). West County Honda obviously doesn't have "qualified" Honda mechanics, much less the "integrity" we are used to from a Honda dealership. More

I bought Honda CR-V form this dealer on Aug 31. Salesman tell me they will send me referred check and coupon book. Now is Oct 17, i still don't have!! Every time i call the salesman, he always say i will get it. But i wait almost 2 months still get nothing. I even leave message to sales consultant, but no one call me back. Another thing, i bought the CR-V after one week, i go back dealer install Roof Rails. When i back to home and saw 3 scratch on my left rear door ,so i took picture immediately. It's new car one week only, because install accessories in store then cause scratch. I'm very unhappy about this thing happen. Of course when i tell them, then they fix the damage. But tell me who want get damage on new car!! Especially only one week after bought the new car!! More

I had a wonderful experience at West County Honda, my salesman was Chris Brooks and he was awesome. I came in wanting to stay at a certain price range and wanting specific details to the car I was buying salesman was Chris Brooks and he was awesome. He went above and beyond by explaining any information that I didn't understand. He made sure I was buying a car I wanted and not just something to get me out of my old car. I would recommend all of my friends and family who are wanting to buy a new car to go to West County Honda and ask for Chris Brooks because he will insure that you LOVE what you buy and understand the quality of what you buy as well.
