Buying a car new or used at prices today,is a major step. My husband and I searched high and low for cars. Knowing that I wanted to purchase a Pre-owned certified Vehicle 2010. So that it would be like Brand New I also wanted the year to say Brand New. So I looked all over and Just could not find the value I was looking For. However no pressure, Jason recommended that I look at something he had a little older 2005 which I did not have in mind. The car was in pristine condition Fully loaded with all you could ask for but a new year. Jason having had a opportunity to make more money with the sale of a new car. Was just as happy making me comfortable for much less. I would just like to say that I would do business with Jason again . Jason made us feel as if customer service was his main concern. This is my 4th or 5th car from Toyota of Wellesley. I have always been treated respectfully and honestly by the salespeople and by the service people here. Toyota of Wellesley actually called me before I had a chance to call them about setting up an appointment to have my car checked. Everything turned out well. It was a comfort working with Chris on our first new car purchase. There was no pressure and that was a hge relief. I had a very bad experience with Wellesley Toyota. After finding the used vehicle I wanted, I negotiated the deal with the Sales Manager Shaun Fisher. The day that I picked up my vehicle, I noticed that th finding the used vehicle I wanted, I negotiated the deal with the Sales Manager Shaun Fisher. The day that I picked up my vehicle, I noticed that there was a scratch that I hadn't noticed before. After a bit of haggling, I told Shaun that I was unhappy but I agreed to proceed with the sale blaming myself for not having noticed the scratch when I test drove the vehicle the first time. I had a bank check ready to purchase the vehicle and all of my paperwork was in order. Shaun proceeded to ask me whether I wanted to repair the scratch for $300. I told him that I did not and that I wanted to purchase the vehicle and have the scratch repaired elsewhere. This is where it got very interesting. Shaun proceeded to tell me that he decided that he did not want to sell me this vehicle if I was not going to service it there. He then asked for my credit card in order to refund my deposit. Frankly I was shocked. I thought that these types of tactics were a thing of the past but apparently they are not. Adam the sales person that I dealt with initially who incidentally was very good was also surprised but seemed to feel helpless as he watched his supervisor walk away with my credit in order to process my refund. At that very moment I decided that a dealership that endorsed this type of bullying tactics was not for me, so rather than insist on purchasing the vehicle which I believe I had every right to do, I chose to take my deposit back and take my business elsewhere.
