On June 28, I brought my 2007 Camry to the dealership to check out a possible tire problem. What I got from Mr. McParland was a checklist indicating a total of $3,500 of repairs (a leaking strut, leaking t check out a possible tire problem. None of these items appeared on the checklist on my previous visit to Wellesley Toyota. I took the car to an independent mechanic whom I had used in the past and we put the car on a lift and looked. There was only minor, normal seepage from one strut and from the steering rack; the timing cover was fine. Good-bye to Toyota and its shabby products and dishonest dealers! My new sedan is on my driveway and it's NOT a Toyota!!! More
So often, too often, one hears horror stories about car dealerships: the hard sell, trumped up service charges, delays and callous service with little regard as to the client’s needs. Nothing could be farther from those experiences at Wellesley Toyota Service. In the twelve years I have been a client of the service department, I have never been disappointed by the professional care my car has received, the relationship the staff has built with me, and the transparency with which the team has always discussed my car’s needs and the price point of each thing to be done to my car. Last night, in the middle of this heat wave, my car’s air conditioning went down. Completely. I called Wellesley Toyota hoping that at some point in the near future they would be able to fit me in. Well, it’s 10:30 the next morning, and I am home with a fully functioning, ice-cold-blasting air conditioner. Before I left Wellesley Toyota, I asked Eric Graf, the Service Department Director, for places online I could write to let others know what wonderful service I had received. After my second request he turned over this website so that I could let others know just how fabulous his service department is. It’s clear that Eric and his team treat every client with the same level of attention. I’m not even sure that Eric realizes how special this level of service is and how rarely one encounters this level of exemplary service in the day-to-day world. As I sat waiting for my car, I watched as Eric and his team of consultants conferred with clients. (I should also mention that they have a quiet room as well as a large room with a television for patrons who prefer to wait with entertainment.) The tone is upbeat, and while the department is busy, it never feels rushed or harried. Some may refer to my car as old; I prefer to think of my aging Rav4 as ‘vintage.’ In the last couple of years it has needed some work, mostly unplanned. Each time I call, Eric has been incredibly accommodating, fitting me in, including the time a speeding driver on Watertown Street in Newton yanked the driver-side door off its hinges. He has never made me feel rushed or as if I am inconveniencing him. Rather, he has always taken his time explaining my options so that I am clear what my choices are before I decide how to proceed. I find that Eric is always the voice of reason encouraging me to try the least expensive option when sometimes I am tempted to just plunge ahead. This willingness to work with me has built such trust that I have complete faith in what he says. What a wonderful way to feel about the person who is caring for your car! While Eric has been terrific in addressing my emergency needs, I should also point out that I have been equally satisfied with my routine care. I happen to love my RAV4, as it is the older model and I would like to keep it as long as I can. Eric and I discussed what the car would need to keep it safe and viable. His assessment was clear and I now have a plan for the next year, as I begin to think about replacing the RAV. Eric is the consummate professional. It is clear that he has set the tone for his entire department. Clients are treated with respect, and even as Wellesley Toyota continues to grow, Eric has not lost the sense of ‘family’ that has set his service department apart from other dealerships. Met with Chris Davey in our search for a used car. Chris walked us through the various options, really listened. He showed a number of options and was very patient with us. We had a 3 month old baby with us (and all the gear), and was not phased while we buckled car seat in, loaded up the stroller, and test drove the cars. At the end of the ordeal, he ran numbers when we asked him to (not when he wanted to close the deal), and then was not only understanding, but encouraging when we wanted the night to sleep on it. Even after we were sold on a price and financing option he found us a better rate. Always responsive and helpful over the phone we hope we can work with him again. More

Price negotiation was done in a courteous and collaborative manner that left me quite satisfied, especially as being in a seller's market. After striking a deal I met with Courtney Shick, the finance officer, to complete the sale. He, too, was pleasant and courteous, offering me the expectable options and accessories. However he kept the pitch to the informative basics and was quite understanding and accepting of my decisions. Alens then took the time to help me empty my trade-in and set up the new car, going over all the detailed info I needed. All-in-all a great purchasing experience. Jim Lindsley More

This was far and away the BEST vehicle purchasing experience that I've EVER had. I went to 4 other dealerships and dealt with the same aggravation at all of them. I then went to Wellesley and was shocked at how easily the entire process went. It's the polar opposite of every other dealer I've been to! It's a different mentality all together. No pressure and a willingness to do whatever needs to be done. Add to that the fact that Jeff returned every phone call and email when he said he would. I got the best treatment and best price despite the fact that they had to go to the trouble to locate a truck with the interior color I wanted. Outstanding! More

Example, the Toyota I turned in had a trailer hitch that needed to be put onto our new 2012 Highlander. He made an appointment to have that taken care of and gave me a loaner for the day. That's unheard of today; they simply don't cut back on customer service at Wellesley Toyota in any area. We never felt pressured by Martin to make any quick decisions, no back and forth negotiating, a smooth and painless experience. More

Although I still had another ten months on my Toyota lease, I couldn't pass up the deal. Upon arrival at Wellesley Toyota I was greeted by Martin Hansberry, one of their sales associates. What impressed me more than the new car was the fact that Martin took the time to provide me with a wealth of information in a very relaxed, unpressured environment that should be the envy of dealers everywhere! Having checked other dealerships, I must admit that it was very refreshing having Martin help me. Unlike sales reps at other dealerships, where all they want to do is hard pressure you to buy and spend hours haggling over price, Martin made the entire process enjoyable. I'll bet you don't hear that often from customers. Wellesley Toyota should be proud to have sales representatives like Martin. He is definitely a great asset to Toyota and Wellesley Toyota.
