Your service team in Merrillville is top notch. Jim Devault is wonderful and is great to work with. Through all the years that I have been serviced at this location (even when it was Schaffer) he Jim Devault is wonderful and is great to work with. Buying a brand new 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Blue trim, I was provided a damaged and dirty car, the car was not checked in (a 1-2 hour process) until after I signed all of the paperwork for the vehicle. I I was provided a damaged and dirty car, the car was not checked in (a 1-2 hour process) until after I signed all of the paperwork for the vehicle. I brought up some of the issues with the vehicle and the sales rep said “… Please don't rate me badly in the survey if you could ill make sure you're taken care of!” I eventually had to call the sales manager, of whom the sales rep never told about any of the issues I had with my vehicle. I should have never been sold my vehicle in the state it is in, and after continued communication with the dealership and Hyundai, it will not get fixed unless of course I spend money fixing issues with a brand new car. All could have been avoided if they had just properly checked in my car in a timely manner. More
I am very disappointed. My Tucson has been having issues for over 6 months. I have brought my car in and they tell me it’s an issue with the engine but aren’t fixing it. I have paid for inspections and tune ups and my car is still having issues. There are times it doesn’t start, it stalls when I’m at a red light or stop sign, and it is definitely a safety issue. They said I can bring it in and leave it so they can see if they can replicate the issues, but don’t have any loaner cars available (I’ve been on the “waitlist” for over a month). While staff has been friendly, it is ridiculous that they know there is a problem with my engine and tell me that’s the issue but won’t fix it because Hyundai doesn’t have an active recall on it even though they know there are issues with certain engines. I have the extended warranty but all the “fixes” they are doing are not covered by the warranty. The engine replacement is covered, however they will not allow you to use the warranty to replace my engine until my car completely dies. More
