While my new vehicle was in for service, an incident with the front camera occurred when the front grill was removed. The experience and people were really good, very friendly and customer oriented. The service department also appeared very knowledgeable to me. In this particular instance they dropped the ball, technically. and customer oriented. The service department also appeared very knowledgeable to me. In this particular instance they dropped the ball, technically. I have a Chevy Volt which is a unique vehicle from a service perspective. There is a common issue with my year of vehicle related to the coolant sensor, where it may require replacement. My vehicle experienced the issue and the service department suggested the typical repair, which is quite expensive. I declined the repair and did some additional research on my own. It turns out that with PHEV vehicles, as well as battery vehicles, a failing 12v battery can cause all kinds of false vehicle failure indications. I ended up testing my 12v battery and it was in fact failing. I replaced the battery and the issue was resolved. I would recommend that the service department update their diagnostic process to include testing the 12v battery as part of any MIL diagnostic. Nobody is perfect and I would still take my vehicle back to this facility, were I to have another problem with it. Their handling of the customer service process really makes you feel like they have your best interest in mind, even if they happened to miss the mark on this particular service. More
