BAIT & SWITCH Went in last week to look at a Certified Pre-Owned 2011 Mazda CX-9. Advertised as a CPO for $24,900. The first thing the salesman did was to ADD $1,60 Went in last week to look at a Certified Pre-Owned 2011 Mazda CX-9. Advertised as a CPO for $24,900. The first thing the salesman did was to ADD $1,600 to the price! ($900 for "repair" work they did to the car and $800 for the CPO warranty)... So 30 seconds in the $24,900 car was now $26,500 --- are you kidding me? Oh and they don't give you a car fax report but do have computers where you - at your own cost - can go print one out if you like. These guys are a joke and you are too if you fall for any of their pricing scams. When showing you their "cost" for a pre-owned car most dealers try to get away with including the "cost" for the prep work such as oil changes, brake refinishing, PDR, and the like --- but they are showing you the retail cost not their cost. Trust me they didn't pay $39.95 for their own guy to do that oil change, they paid him whatever hourly wage he makes. HOWEVER these car sharks were so brazen to add that "cost" to the advertised price after you sat down. And adding the cost for a warranty when the car was advertised as a CPO vehicle is beyond crooked. I don't fully blame the poor salesman, he was obviously trying hard to follow a script passed down from the upper management. If you fall for these cheap tricks then shame on you. More
Another example of why car dealerships have a stereotype Went to look at a used 2011 Mazda6. The car was nice, but was "marked down" from a price much higher than KBB or NADA. They weren't really intereste Went to look at a used 2011 Mazda6. The car was nice, but was "marked down" from a price much higher than KBB or NADA. They weren't really interested in negotiating, and had no problems doing the whole going away for long periods of time to make you sweat, bringing in the sales manager. While Ash was friendly, I noticed that he had his hat and coat on BEFORE giving us the final answer on our last offer, so he could jump to the next customer. Furthermore, there were all sorts of fees ($400 for internal paperwork??? Didn't see that at the dealership where I actually purchased my car) and they were only willing to come down $600 in total. The sales people do not have their own desks, mill around waiting to pounce on someone coming through the door, and you just get the feel that this is exactly the type of dealership that makes you cringe when looking to buy a car. On another note, since they also service Hyundai's there, and that is the service center for my Hyundai, I've always felt that they were trying to squeeze every cent out of me each time. I would tell them not to do certain things (like rotate tires a few days after having new ones put on my Santa Fe) which they completely ignored and tried to charge me. They may do a lot of business and supposedly are #1, but I would not recommend them to anyone and will not return either for servicing either one of my Hyundai's or if I were interested in a Mazda in the future. I purchased my new Mazda CX-5 on Monday March 31 and was dealing with Marc Ortiz. He was more than helpful and was knowledgable on everything about the Mazda CX-5. I was very pleased working and dealing w dealing with Marc Ortiz. He was more than helpful and was knowledgable on everything about the Mazda CX-5. I was very pleased working and dealing with him and would definitely come back. However I was very disappointed in the wash center. It was late at night when I finally got my car (10:30) and when we pulled out of the dealership there was NO gas in the car. We had to find the closest gas station and fill it up ourselves before our 45 minute ride home. The next day when I could finally see the car in the light I was also disappointed in the wash job itself. I was told the car was going to be prepped and cleaned before I got it and when I touched the car hood a layer of dirt came off. I understand it was late at night and the service people probably wanted to go home as well but I find that completely unacceptable for a car I just spent almost $30,000 on. I called Marc and again he was extremely helpful and willing to make me happy and informed me I would be reimbursed for the gas when I came to get my license plates. More
