CX-3 Purchase Experience After deciding among a few cars and models for a new vehicle, I used the Consumer Reports True Price service to find a participating dealer. I made an appointment and met with a salesman, Ash Choudhury. I drove a CX-3, and also tested a CX-5. After reviewing the inventory and selecting options, I asked after financing and lease deals, just to check and see if there was anything available I found attractive. After paying for the car and picking it up, I can offer the following impressions of my full experience: - Ash listened to me and answered my questions. I didn't feel pressured or hurried at all. - I paid a fair price. Possibly I could have paid a little bit less based on some of the email and VM offers I've gotten from a few other dealers, but no very big differences. I feel good about the amount I paid. - Wayne Mazda doesn't offer any manufacturer sponsored financing, so no below inflation interest rate financing, as some other car makers are doing right now. I paid cash, so anyone with very good credit looking to finance may do better to secure their loan from another source. - There were no unexpected added fees other than $300 for security etching, which they do with all their new inventory. My insurance agent was able to slightly reduce my related premium expense as a result. There is a $400 documentation fee which they disclosed through the True Price service. - When I came to pick up the car, Ash patiently reviewed the major bells and whistles with me. They offered a flexible maintenance contract but did not push it too hard. - I live in NY and expected to have to deal with a lot of DMV issues myself, but the dealer handles all that, including license plates. I'm very satisfied with the purchase experience, and I recommend both Wayne Mazda, and Ash Choudhury without any reservation. - Jared Yuster More
